Big Fight Analysis

Ennis' status as champion isn't the only reason he enters the bout an overwhelming favourite. The 27-year-old has not only won all 31 of his fights, but 28 of those have also ended inside the distance. Even more impressively, Ennis heads into the weekend having won 20 of his last 22 by stoppage.

In contrast, former European titleholder Avanesyan has been limited by inactivity in recent years. With just three outings since October 2021, the Armenian also made his second challenge for a world title in December 2022. Avanesyan came up short that night after he was dominated and stopped in six by Terence Crawford.

A routine fourth-round stoppage victory returned Avanesyan to winning ways in December last year but he hasn't been campaigning regularly at the highest level for several years.

OddsNow's Best Bet

The contrasting positions of both fighters is stark. Ennis' brutal 10th-round stoppage of Roiman Villa was a career-best victory last time out, and the American will be eager to impress in his first fight since penning a multi-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing back in April.

His two most recent outings - versus Villa and Karen Chukhadzhian - are his only fights to go past six rounds. We expect this trend to continue this weekend as Ennis cements his Matchroom debut in emphatic fashion before looking to collide with the other big-hitters at 147lbs.
