2025 Flanders Darts Trophy – Players to Watch

Luke Littler (2/1)

You can’t go into an event without mentioning Littler – particularly at the moment.

He’s stayed away from the European Tour largely in 2025 because of issues with crowd behaviour but still emerged victorious at ET1 and made a semi-final in ET4.

His recent form is red-hot, though. Back-to-back titles at the Australian Masters and New Zealand Masters were secured with minimal fuss. He’s been reeling off 100+ averages at a ridiculously consistent rate, peaking with a marvellous 115 against Luke Humphries last time out.

Stephen Bunting (14/1)

Stephen Bunting is another man in-form, having been the losing finalist of the Players Championship 24, before then winning Players Championship 25 the very next day.

He’s already lifted a Euro Tour title in Riesa earlier this season and comes into this event with a favourable top-half draw.

Mike De Decker (33/1)

Home hero Mike De Decker will be carrying the hopes of Belgium this weekend.

The 2024 World Grand Prix winner and 2025 Belgian Darts Open finalist brings some decent form to the table too, having made the final of the Australian Darts Masters on World Series debut.

He averaged just 80.33 in his first-round tie there but then thrashed Luke Humphries 6-0, with a 103.66 average. Unfortunately for De Decker, he once again fell to his nemesis in Littler, losing the final 8-4 and averaging 89.66.

The Real Deal will hope that a partisan home crowd can help roar him to a maiden Euro Tour success on Sunday.

Martin Schindler (50/1)

Fresh from a strong run at Players Championship 25, where he posted some sizeable averages, Martin Schindler already has a European Tour crown in 2025 (ET5, beating Ross Smith in the final) and a Players Championship (PC8) under his belt.

The German has made himself a real force on the European Tour with three titles in the last 18 months and his immense scoring power makes him a lively outsider.

Betting tips for the 2025 Flanders Darts Trophy

Back Littler to make it a hat-trick (2/1)

He’s won the Australian and New Zealand Masters back-to-back in August and I think Littler makes it a hat trick by winning this Belgian title too.

The Nuke is simply awesome right now and it would take a standout 105-108 kind of average to stop him, I feel.

Whilst the full draw isn’t confirmed at the time of writing, Littler is set to be in the bottom half alongside the likes of Ross Smith, Chris Dobey, Damon Heta and Michael van Gerwen.

Gerwyn Price is likely to withdraw with his ongoing hand issues and Peter Wright is in no form at all. Nathan Aspinall has the ability to cause him problems but has also missed tournaments with his ongoing issues.

Let’s go Bunting mental (14/1)

Whilst the price seems to be getting increasingly skinny, I still feel like 14/1 is a solid price for Stephen Bunting.

I’ve mentioned above how his form is ticking in the right direction recently and even when he has lost games, he has gone down to huge averages.

He lost to Littler in the Australian Masters (7-4) with a 102.35 average and then bowed out of the New Zealand Masters to Dobey with a 108 average – Dobey averaging 110 in response.

He comes into this having won and made a final of the last two Players Championships and those events are very hard to stay concentrated, so there's plenty to like about Bunting's game right now.

Schindler worth a poke (50/1)

My final outright selection is Martin Schindler.

I’ve already mentioned his wins on the European Tour (ET5), where he beat Ross Smith in the final. He just seems to love playing in Europe.

The Wall has solid form in the Players Championship too, winning PC8 and making the last four a few days ago. So, he looks an appealing price for the weekend for those who like an outside poke.
