Arsenal vs PSG: Betting tips and analysis
Arsenal vs PSG: Betting tips and analysis

Arsenal welcome French champions PSG to the English capital for their first home outing in this season's Champions League.

Can the hosts pickup their first win in the competition this term following a 0-0 draw at Atalanta on matchday one?

Odds Now's Brad Walker has taken a closer look at the betting market to see where the value may lie ahead of kick-off at the Emirates.

Tale of the tape

Arsenal

The Gunners returned to winning ways despite suffering a scare against Leicester City at the weekend.

Mikel Arteta's side headed into stoppage time with the scored tied at 2-2, despite having initially led 2-0, before a late Wilfred Ndidi own goal and Kai Havertz strike secured all three points at the Emirates Stadium.

The win made it seven matches unbeaten on home turf for Arsenal, who have failed to score just once in their last 15 home outings.

Their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich at the quarter-final stage was also their only time conceding at the Emirates throughout their entire Champions League campaign last season.

PSG

Life post-Kylian Mbappe has been positive - so far, at least - for Les Parisiens. The French club are yet to taste defeat in any competition so far this season and predictably sit top of Ligue 1, ahead of second-placed Monaco on goal difference.

A 1-0 home victory over Girona also saw them get off to a perfect start in Europe's premier club competition. PSG could have easily won by a wider margin on another day, having averaged 1.87 xG across the 90 minutes, against their Spanish counterparts.

Winger Ousmane Dembele is unlikely to be part of the travelling squad to the English capital though, after reportedly falling out with manager Luis Enrique. The Frenchman will be a big miss, having scored four and assisted four in his side's opening six outings in the French top-flight.

Arsenal vs PSG: Betting tips and predictions

Both have impressed early on in their respective domestic campaigns, though Arsenal do enter firm odds-on favourites at a best price of 3/4.

Predictably so, given the Gunners are third favourites to win the entire tournament behind English rivals Manchester City and current holders Real Madrid.

The absence of Dembele will provide a further boost for the hosts, who remain one of the strongest sides operating across the continent.

Winger Bukayo Saka has been a key pillar in the success they've enjoyed so far, and has also made habit of shining on the big occasions.

The 23-year-old already has six goal contributions to his name this season and, despite having registered nine appearances in this competition so far in his career, already boasts four goals and four assists to date.

All four of those strikes occurred at the Emirates, including his side's opener against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their quarter-final tie in the previous campaign.

The visitors' recent defensive record will also have the young gun licking his lips. PSG's 1-0 win over Girona is the only time the French side have kept a clean sheet in any of their last five outings in all competitions, and they will also be without key figures in Lucas Hernandez and Presnel Kimpembe.

Given his eye-catching performances for England at the Euros, as well as his positive start this term, getting Saka to score anytime at 41/20 looks an absolute steal ahead of this one.
