Arsenal host Manchester City at The Emirates on Sunday (4.30pm BST) in a huge clash for both sides, with neither wanting to lose ground on unbeaten leaders Liverpool.
Both teams come into this encounter off solid wins in Europe and will be eager to build on that momentum in their pursuit of the Premier League title.
Odds Now's football tipster Terry Foord takes a closer look at the contest and picks out his best bets.
Arsenal have made a strong start to the season with three wins and just one defeat from their opening four – that loss coming against Liverpool.
They followed it up with a solid 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday to extend their excellent defensive run.
The Gunners have conceded only once in their first five games (including Champions League), evoking memories of the old “1-0 to the Arsenal” chants that used to ring around Highbury. The truth is simple: if you’re not conceding, you’re always giving yourself a chance to win.
City also enjoyed a solid midweek win in Europe, though theirs came on Thursday, which leaves them slightly less time to prepare here.
Pep Guardiola was wise to rotate, bringing off Rodri, Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland once the job was done.
The Citizens’ league form hasn’t been great so far, with just two wins from four. But since Rodri’s return from injury and the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, they’ve kept back-to-back clean sheets — a platform they’ll be looking to build on.
Arsenal thrashed Manchester City 5-1 the last time they met at The Emirates back in February.
The Gunners are unbeaten in the last five head-to-heads (W2, D3), though three of those contests ended level. Low-scoring games have also been a theme, with under 2.5 goals landing in three of the last five.
This game really points towards under 2.5 goals for me.
City look to be turning a corner and, most importantly, are keeping clean sheets again. Arsenal, meanwhile, have only conceded once at The Emirates this season, so I can’t see them losing. A 0-0 wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest – and looks worth half a point too.
Away from this match, I’ve also had a small bet on Manchester City to win the league. With Rodri back, a strong goalkeeper in place, and form trending upwards, I think they’re set to push on. Let's get a point on the Citizens now at a juicy 7/1, which I expect to contract in the coming weeks.
For my Bet Builder, here I’m backing two Arsenal defenders in Jurrien Timber and Gabriel to register a shot — something we’ve seen in each of the Gunners' Premier League home games so far.
I’ve also added their new marksman Viktor Gyokeres to have a shot on target, with the striker managing eight attempts and two on target in his last two appearances for Arsenal.
He has found himself bang under scrutiny in his first few Premier League weeks but does appear to be warming to the task of leading the line for one of England's leading lights.
3pts – Under 2.5 goals – 1/1 (Skybet)
0.5pt – No first goalscorer – 12/1 (Bet365)
0.5pt – Bet Builder Under 2.5 goals, Gyokeres 1+ shot on target and both Gabriel and Timber 1+ shot – 9/1 (Bet365)
Ante Post
1pt – Manchester City to win the league 7/1 (Bet365)
