Aston Villa vs Everton betting tips | Premier League | Match Preview | January 18th 2026

The Sunday early evening fixture at 4:30 pm GMT comes from Villa Park, where Aston Villa look to extend their exceptional home form in the Premier League.

Standing in their way is an Everton side flirting dangerously with the relegation picture, with a poor run of results threatening to pull them deeper into the battle. Odds Now football tipster Terry Foord breaks down the key angles and identifies the best betting opportunities.

Aston Villa vs Everton betting preview – Sunday, January 18th 2026

Key Stats & Analysis

Aston Villa are now only goal difference away from climbing into the top two of the Premier League table. With Manchester City facing a tricky Manchester derby, a Villa win here could see them move clear into second and establish themselves as Arsenal’s closest challengers.

Unai Emery’s side are in an exceptional moment. Villa have lost just once in their last ten matches in all competitions – that defeat coming away at league leaders Arsenal.

Most recently, they produced a highly impressive FA Cup victory away at Tottenham, and, in the Premier League, at Villa Park, they are formidable: eight straight home wins and nine victories from their last ten.

Everton arrive as one of the few clubs to have taken points off Villa this season – holding them to a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park back in September. The Toffees sit twelfth in the table but have managed just one win in their last six Premier League fixtures.

David Moyes made a strong impact on his return to Everton a year ago, starting with four wins from his opening six games. However, as the “new manager bounce” has faded, Everton have slipped back into inconsistency.

Their only win in the last six was against Nottingham Forest, and they have drawn with both nineteenth-placed Burnley and bottom-placed Wolves – results that will concern supporters.

Head-to-Head

Aston Villa hold a clear historical advantage in this fixture, winning seven of the last ten Premier League meetings between the sides. Their dominance is even more pronounced at Villa Park, where they have claimed victory in five of the previous six encounters, with the sole exception being a tight 0-0 draw.

Interestingly, three of the last four meetings have finished under 2.5 goals, suggesting that despite Villa’s strong record, this fixture often produces closely contested, low-scoring affairs.

Aston Villa vs Everton betting angles

Villa’s home record is elite – eight wins from ten, one draw, and only one defeat. Given the strength of their home form and Everton’s ongoing struggles, I must side with Aston Villa here, despite the short price.

Villa have been defensively solid at home, conceding just eight goals across their ten league matches at Villa Park. When you consider that Everton have scored only nine away goals all season, the angle of Villa to win and under 2.5 goals becomes very appealing. A controlled 1-0 or 2-0 win feels the most likely outcome.

Everton do maintain a reasonably stable defensive structure, and with Villa having an away trip to Fenerbahçe just four days later, they may keep something in the tank, further pointing towards a lower-scoring Villa win.
