Bayern Munch vs RB Leipzig: Analysis and three betting tips for Bundesliga clash

Harry Kane is finally on the cusp of the trophy lift he joined Bayern Munich for two summers ago, with the German giants poised to reclaim the Bundesliga title.

As they look to seal success with some time to spare against RB Leipzig on Saturday, our stats expert Felix Morson-Pate (@felixpatelgop) carves out some betting angles for the clash.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig betting tips for Saturday May 3, 2025

Bayern to win and BTTS - 8/5 (Bet365)

Vincent Kompany’s men travel to Leipzig on Saturday knowing a win will see them regain the title they lost to Bayer Leverkusen last season. They don’t travel here in the most sparkling form, but the hosts have hardly been a consistent force themselves either in 2025

One thing that is almost always guaranteed when RB Leipzig do play however, particularly against the other German big guns, is entertainment and goals. Whilst the two sides do actually boast the highest clean sheet totals in this season’s Bundesliga (13 and 14 respectively), those trends tend to go out of the window when they match up and I’d expect more of the same here.

With Bayern focused solely on the league, and wanting to lay down a marker to win back their crown, I’d expect them to brush Leipzig aside here, but with no Manuel Neuer and the excellent form of the home side’s forwards, there should be action in both nets after 90 minutes.

Michael Olise 3+ shots - 17/20 (MGM/Unibet)

In one of last summer’s most successful transfers, Olise has turned himself into one of Europe’s elite attackers on the biggest stage, providing an excellent foil for Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala and elevating the obvious talent he showed at Crystal Palace.

The Frenchman has 21 goal contributions in the league this season, and has been somewhat of a shot generating machine. Averaging over 3.2 shots per 90 this campaign, Olise consistently gets himself into excellent positions by finding space whilst drifting in from the right flank, and he’s a dangerous shooter from any range – as evidenced by his superb goal against Wolfsburg and a magical free kick away at Bochum.

Up against a side who love the game to be played at a high pace, with lots of transitions, expect Olise to find space to exploit in behind either Ridle Baku or David Raum and test Marten Vandevoordt at every opportunity

Over 5.5 Bayern corners - 5/6 (Spreadex)

It can be a little like feast or famine when looking to back corners in Bayern Munich matches this season.

They’re averaging over six a game away from home, but at times they feel just as likely to go under four as they do to get double digits.

My overall feeling about the style in which I think this match will be played is what’s leading me to this bet, as well as the general market movement towards the overs. Importantly as well, this bet would have cashed when Leipzig hosted both Dortmund and Frankfurt (but not Leverkusen) which suggests a propensity to perhaps give up the ball (and by extension corners) against the bigger sides to try and hit them on the counter more.

Strugglers Holstein Kiel also managed to get 7 corners of their own as the last visitors to Leipzig, so putting all of these pieces together makes me feel that a shade of odds on is a good price for this selection to land.
