Bournemouth vs Manchester City: 5/1 Antoine Semenyo double for FA Cup clash

Bournemouth play host to tournament favourites Manchester City on Sunday afternoon as both bid to progress to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Our tipster Brad Walker (@brad_TWalker) has taken a closer look at the match-up and picked out 8/11, 18/5 and 5/1 fancies.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City analysis - Neither side the pick of the bunch at the home of the Cherries

Neither side is in great form heading into the match at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Bournemouth will certainly be the happier of the two with their overall performances this season, but their form has certainly tapered off in recent weeks.

The Cherries' penalty shootout win over Wolves in the previous round of this competition is their only success in their last five. Andoni Iraola's side have failed to win any of their last four in the Premier League, three of which ended in defeat, now leaving them in 10th position.

However, they did pick up a 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Vitality earlier in the campaign.

Meanwhile, the champions have endured a dismal season to say the least but could still add some silverware by lifting this trophy in May. First, they'll need to find a way past their south coast hosts this weekend, though their recent form is hardly convincing.

City's 3-1 win over Plymouth in the previous round is one of only two wins in their last six in all competitions. Pep Guardiola's men have also lost five of their last 10 away games.

Best bets for Bournemouth vs Manchester City on Sunday, March 30, 2025

My picks for this game are going to centre around one man in particular and, if combined, make for a tidy 5/1 bet builder with William Hill.

Selection #1 - Antoine Semenyo to be shown a card - 18/5

Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth's standout players this season, but has also caught the eye in terms of the number of fouls given away.

Only Ipswich striker Liam Delap has given away more (60) than Semenyo's 59 so far. In fact, the Cherries winger has already served a one-match suspension for the number of yellow cards he's accrued this season and is now tetering on the edge of a second.

He currently has nine to his name in the league after picking up four in his last five league appearances. The 25-year-old was also booked in his side's 5-1 win over West Brom during the third round of the FA Cup back in January.

Having averaged 2.1 fouls so far in the league, backing him to be carded again this weekend could prove an astute pick indeed, particularly given the very generous 18/5 pricing on offer.

That price can be boosted even further by doubling up with my next selection, too.

Selection #2 - Antoine Semenyo to have over 2.5+ shots

Sticking with the Semenyo theme, it's also worth making note of his shooting trends this term.

Only three players have taken more shots than the Ghanaian so far this season. With a grand tally of 101 to his name, Semenyo is only five off Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who has taken a league-best 106.

Semenyo's total averages out at 3.6 per game and, if you add City's defensive troubles to the mix, it's worth backing him to continue that theme this weekend. The visitors have managed only seven clean sheets all season in the league and have picked up just one in their last six in all competitions.
