Bournemouth vs Brentford: Betting Odds & Prediction
Bournemouth vs Brentford: Betting Odds & Prediction

Bournemouth look to maintain their place in the top-half of the Premier League when they host Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides played out a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium back in September. Kick-off is set for 3pm UK time at the Vitality Stadium.

Recent Form

Bournemouth

The home side have endured a mixed bag of form recently, and come into the fixture having suffered a 3-0 defeat away at league leaders Arsenal. The loss was Bournemouth's third loss in their last six, though the Cherries also picked up two wins during that period.

Andoni Iraola's side have the eleventh-best home record in the Premier League, averaging 1.5 points across their 18 home outings. They are also unbeaten in their last six outings on home turf.

Buoyed by an in-form Dominic Solanke, Bournemouth have averaged an impressive 1.44 goals scored in home fixtures, but have failed to score in five of these matches. Their defensive record is identical, with the Cherries shipping 1.44 goals in front of their home fans so far. Five of their nine clean sheets have also came on home soil.

Brentford

Thomas Frank's men have now cemented their position in the Premier League next season following a 0-0 home draw with Fulham last week. The result meant they have tasted just one defeat in their last seven, but their away form remains a concern.

Only four sides have worse records than the 0.78 points Brentford have averaged on their travels, with the Bees recording just one win in their last five away matches. However, Brentford have had little trouble finding the net on the road lately, scoring eight goals across their last three outings when travelling.

Averaging 1.39 away goals scored this term, their main issue has been at the other end of the pitch; with just three clean sheets kept in away games, Brentford have averaged 1.67 goals conceded both home and away. Added to Ivan Toney's absence for the first half of the season and a lengthy injury list, it's easy to see why the West Londoners found themselves on the verge of a relegation scrap.

Prediction

Neither side have much to play for between now and the season's end, but OddsNow expect Bournemouth to maintain their solid home record in their penultimate match on home turf this campaign.
