Brentford host Arsenal in the first Premier League match of 2025, but can the visitors keep their title aspirations alive?

Odds Now's Brad Walker runs you through the fixture to point out where the best value lies.

Odds Now's Brentford vs Arsenal selection

Brentford have hit a rough patch in recent weeks, failing to record a victory in any of their last four outings in the league.

Three of those matches have been on away soil though, and while they were handed their first home defeat of the season against Nottingham Forest recently, the Bees still boast the joint-best home record in the division.

No side have scored more home goals than Thomas Frank's (26), who have averaged 2.89 goals scored across their nine outings at the Gtech Community Stadium this term.

Brentford welcome an Arsenal side in dire need of a win to remain within touching distance of league leaders Liverpool, whom they currently trail by nine points prior to kick-off.

Nevertheless, the Gunners travel to West London unbeaten in their last eight and have also recorded consecutive victories over Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town in their most two recent outings.

Mikel Arteta has been severely wounded by a long-term injury to talisman Bukayo Saka, who is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks after underdoing hamstring surgery.

Arsenal's away form remains a concern

Remarkably, all but two of Brentford's 24 points have been won in home fixtures.

The Bees are yet to win on their travels but are level with leaders Liverpool in terms of total points acrued on home soil.

Compare this with the away form of Arsenal, who have endured their fair share of difficulty away from the Emirates so far.

Arteta's men have only won four of their nine away outings, picking up just two clean sheets in the process.

Three of their nine away outings have also seen them concede at least twice, making for a startling read when concerning the attacking exploits of their hosts on Wednesday.

Brentford's 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest earlier this month was the first time they'd fail to score in front of their home fans.

Frank's crop have also scored at least three goals in six of their nine matches at the Gtech.

Add Saka's injury to the mix and getting the Brentford win at 13/2 looks incredibly juicy.
