Netherlands vs England Team News

Neither side are blighted by injury concerns heading into the clash in Dortmund.

England manager Gareth Southgate could return Marc Guehi to the lineup after the centre-back missed his side's victory over Switzerland through suspension. Left-back Luke Shaw also made his first appearance in five months off the bench and could start at Signal Iduna Park.

Netherlands vs England Analysis and Predictions

Ronald Koeman's Dutch side have continued to build momentum as the tournament reaches its latter stages.

They came behind to eventually secure an impressive 2-1 win over Turkey last time out and are now eyeing a first European Championship final appearance since 1988.

England, meanwhile, have been subject to a wealth of criticism for their performances so far in Germany but are also within touching distance of another final appearance.

They again flattered to deceive against Switzerland but will be grateful for putting any Euro 2020 demons to bed with a victory in the shootout.

For all their criticism, Southgate's side have been praised for their defensive efforts overall in Germany. However, their expected goals against (xGA) of 1.47 versus Switzerland will be a concern given the attacking exploits of the Dutch, who already have 9 strikes to their name in the tournament.

Combined with the dearth of English talent in forward areas, we will be backing both teams to find the net in Dortmund. Dutch forward Cody Gakpo will also be eyeing finishing as tournament top-scorer and so we will also be tipping him to bag a fourth EURO 2024 goal in this one.
