Spain vs France Team News

Spanish right-back Dani Carvajal's red card versus Germany means he misses this one through suspension.

Centre-back Robin Le Normand is also suspended after receiving his second booking of the tournament, while midfielder Pedri will miss the rest of Spain's Euro 2024 campaign after picking up a knee injury in Stuttgart last time out.

France manager Didier Deschamps has a full squad to pick from ahead of the semi-final.

Spain vs France Analysis and Predictions

France were hotly-tipped to be among the final four ahead of the tournament but, despite sitting as one of the more established footballing nations, few predicted Spain to impress to this extent.

Luis de la Fuente's side have been the outstanding team in Germany so far and now sit as favourites to claim a fourth European Championship crown (2/1, general).

A last-gasp header by Mikel Merino secured a 2-1 extra-time win over the Germans last time out and added two more goals to Spain's total tournament haul of 11 — a figure no other side has matched this summer.

Meanwhile, Deschamps' crop have flattered to deceive up to this point but, nevertheless, have reached the semi-final stage for the third time in their last four major tournaments.

A narrow 1-0 win over Belgium was followed by a nervy penalty shootout victory over Portugal in the quarter-finals, but the poor form of star man Kylian Mbappe remains a concern.

France have meandered throughout their Euro 2024 campaign so far but their experience at the latter stages of competitions makes calling a result in this one tough.

The Spaniards have averaged 20 shots across their five matches in Germany so far, though, and so we expect France goalkeeper Mike Maignan to be kept busy across a mouth-watering semi-final encounter in Munich.
