Back this 5/1 Finland vs England bet-builder on Sunday
Back this 5/1 Finland vs England bet-builder on Sunday

Lee Carsley seems as though he can't quite make up his mind about whether he wants the England job, but a 2-1 home defeat to Greece severely dented his chances of remaining in the Wembley hotseat regardless.

Nevertheless, attention turns to their trip to Helsinki where the Three Lions hope to return to winning ways against Finland.

Odds Now's Brad Walker runs you through a tasty 5/1 bet-builder ahead of a vital match for the former Everton midfielder.

Brad Walker's Finland vs England bet-builder selections

Selection #1 - England to win (1/3)

I'll hold my hands up - I also backed an England win on Thursday night, only for them to get turned over by Ivan Jovanovic's Greek side.

But, SURELY, they can't follow that up with another defeat to Finland?

The talent rife in the England ranks shouldn't only see them resume their winning form but, let's be honest, they should do so in relatively comfortable fashion.

Finland find themselves 64th in the FIFA World Rankings and are without a win in any of their last five matches, four of which have ended in defeat.

England also secured a 2-0 win over their Finnish counterparts back in September.

Selection #2 - Over 2.5+ goals scored (8/11)

In fact, Finland's defeat to England is the only of their last five matches not to see at least three goals scored in total.

The Nordics are also without a clean sheet in their last eight outings, though they did find the back of the net themselves in six of those games.

All roads therefore points towards another goal-laiden fixture for Carsley's men, who have not failed to score since a 0-0 draw with Slovenia in the Euro 2024 group stage.

Selection #3 - Cole Palmer to score anytime (2/1)

It's impossible to mention England's wealth of attacking options without mentioning the name of Cole Palmer at the minute.

The Chelsea ace has started the season on fire at club level and already boasts six goals and five assists in the Premier League.

He also opened his England account on the biggest of stages, bagging his country's equaliser in an eventual 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euros final back in July.

Sure, the 22-year-old struggled to have an impact against Greece on Thursday, but his form for Chelsea shows he is capable of bursting into life at any given moment.

Backing him to score against a leaky Finland defence at a wide 2/1 looks the shrewdest pick of the lot.
