There is just one Premier League fixture on Monday night, with Fulham hosting Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage in an 8pm GMT kick-off.
Odds Now football tipster Terry Foord provides full stats, analysis, and potential betting angles for a game involving two teams hovering precariously above the relegation zone.
Fulham come into this match off the back of a much-needed 3–2 away win over Burnley. It was the Cottagers’ first league victory in three matches and keeps them more than two wins clear of eighteenth-placed West Ham.
However, with a meeting against West Ham coming up in under two weeks, Fulham will be aware of how quickly a team can be drawn into a relegation battle.
Marco Silva’s side return to home turf, where most of their positive work has been done this season. Fulham have recorded four wins from eight home matches, losing just three. Defensively, though, recent numbers are worrying.
Prior to their last two home games, Fulham had conceded just three goals across six matches at Craven Cottage. That figure has now risen to ten, and no side has conceded more goals than Fulham across the last four league matches. It’s a trend that needs addressing.
Nottingham Forest picked up their fourth win in six matches with an impressive 3–0 victory over Tottenham at the City Ground. That result capped off an excellent week, which also included a 2–1 away win at Utrecht that all but secured their progress in the Europa League.
Forest currently looks like the strongest side among the bottom five, and while they remain five points from safety, the form is encouraging.
Sean Dyche has rapidly improved Nottingham Forest to the point where they now rank inside the top three for form over the last six matches, but goals remain an issue.
Dyche’s teams are built on defensive solidity, and while that approach is paying dividends, Forest have scored just six goals in eight away matches. Only Sunderland and bottom-placed Wolves have managed fewer.
Fulham boast a strong recent record against Nottingham Forest, winning five of the last six meetings. Goals have featured heavily too, with two five-goal thrillers among those fixtures.
Over 2.5 goals have landed in four of the last six meetings, while both teams have scored in three of those six. At Craven Cottage, Fulham have not lost this fixture since 2022, winning all three home meetings in that period.
Despite the recent history of goals in this fixture, I think this could be a much tighter affair. It feels like the type of game where both sides might happily settle for a point. Fulham are usually solid defensively at home, while Nottingham Forest under Dyche are clearly organised and difficult to break down.
With that in mind, I’ll take small stakes on the draw and under 2.5 goals. The scorelines I keep coming back to are 0–0 or 1–1, so I’ll also take a very small punt on the correct score being 1–1.
1pt – Draw and under 2.5 goals – 3/1 (Bet365)
0.5pts – Correct score 1-1 – 11/2 (Bet365)
Total Staked: 1.5pts
