Juventus vs AC Milan: Betting Odds & Prediction

Juventus look to close the gap on second-placed AC Milan when the two Italian giants face-off on Saturday evening in Turin.

Milan sit five points clear of the hosts heading into the fixture and could all but secure a top-two finish with a win this weekend. Juventus won the reverse fixture 1-0 at the San Siro earlier in the season.

Kick-off is set for 5pm UK time at the Allianz Arena.

Recent Form

Juventus

Massimiliano Allegri's side have been marred by consistency this season and are winless in their last three matches in all competitions. Juventus most recently suffered a 2-1 defeat at Lazio in the Coppa Italia but progressed to the final with a 3-2 aggregate win.

Their league form has seen them register just one win in their last seven outings, leaving them looking over their shoulder at fourth-placed Bologna who now only trail them by two points. Thankfully for them, Juve have been far better on home soil this season having averaged 2.19 points per game at the Allianz Arena. They are also unbeaten in their last four at home in Serie A.

Their 1.42 goals scored has hardly set the world alight, but it's in defensive quarters where Juventus have really shone; just 0.79 goals conceded on average, falling to only 0.63 at home, leaves them with the joint-best defensive record in the division. Eight of their 16 home fixtures have also ended in a Juventus clean sheet.

AC Milan

Despite Juve's success at home, they're preparing to face a Milan side with the second-best away record in the division. They are however winless in their last four in all competitions, including two defeats to Roma in the Europa League and a 2-1 loss to city rivals Inter on Monday.

Nevertheless, Milan have excelled in attacking quarters overall, averaging 1.94 goals scored across their 33 league outings. This rises to 2.18 on the road, where they've won three of their last four.

However, conceding goals has been a huge problem for Stefano Poli's side. An average of 1.71 goals conceded on the road is concerning and has led to clean sheets in just four of these matches. Milan have conceded two or more goals in an alarming 53% of away matches.

Prediction

The match paints an intriguing picture. Neither side have been convincing in recent outings, but Juventus' impressive record at home combined with Milan's habit of conceding on the road makes the home win a viable option heading into the match.
