The League One season kicks off when Luton take on AFC Wimbledon on Friday night -but for this piece, we're not worried about match results.
Instead, our tipster Adam Drury takes a dive into the outright top goalscorer markets and comes up with 10/1 and 50/1 ante post selections.
It can be too easy simply to plump for the lead striker of a favourite in this market – but in the instance of Yousef Salech, let's keep things simple.
The striker scored eight goals after signing for Cardiff in the second half of the 2024/25 Championship season, leading the line for a poor side that was eventually relegated.
He registered 2.3 shots per game during that run – the 15th best in the division, and put up an xG of 0.5 per game – joint-fifth along with the division's top scorer, Joel Piroe.
Put simply, he is a striker who gets himself in the best positions to score and dropping down a level could well see him mop up.
Cardiff are not worth backing in the outright markets, with their volatile ownership situation playing against them. Yet I still think Salech will score goals.
Brian Barry-Murphy coaches a progressive, attacking style of football and that should suit the Dane.
Indeed, my biggest fear is that he doesn't last the season in a Cardiff shirt, with those higher up the food chain bound to be looking at him already.
Koroma scored 11 goals in League One for Huddersfield last season – and only needs a handful more to put himself right in contention in a Leyton Orient shirt this time around.
The forward has played the majority of his football at a higher level than League One and returns to the club where he broke through as an academy graduate in 2016.
This looks a lovely fit for the 26-year-old, who registered 3.03 shots per game last season at an xG of 0.33, solid numbers.
Orient look set to be a decent side again this season, too, with Richie Wellens always encouraging an aggressive style and also bringing Demetri Mitchell, Idris El Mizouni and Aason Connolly to the club.
It would not be a surprise if Koroma really took off in a team and at a club that suits him.
