This Saturday sees Leeds take on Liverpool in the Premier League's late kick-off (5.30pm GMT).
Odds Now football tipster Terry Foord previews the action and highlights the best betting tips ahead of this highly anticipated clash in the Premier League this weekend.
Leeds recorded easily their best result of the season on Wednesday as they beat Chelsea 3-1 at home.
It was their third win of the season at Elland Road and moves them two points clear of the relegation zone, with a better goal difference than West Ham.
Daniel Farke’s team will rely heavily on their home form, with just one away win this season. However, Leeds at Elland Road is not a game any team will look forward to, and that is key for their survival prospects.
Burnley and Wolves look very much gone this season, so it is shaping up to be a four-team race to stay clear of that trapdoor 18th position.
Liverpool beat West Ham last weekend but were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland on Wednesday. They now find themselves down in ninth place, which is simply not good enough for a club of Liverpool’s size – the reigning champions.
The decision to start Mohamed Salah on the bench worked at West Ham, but he was brought on shortly after half-time against Sunderland following a very average Liverpool performance. Arne Slot must now decide what to do with Salah and others for this game.
Liverpool went 1-0 behind and, for the last 15–20 minutes, looked the better team. However, they continue to leak too many goals against inferior opposition. Away from home, they’ve conceded twelve goals in seven matches.
These two sides have not met since 2023; a match Leeds will not want to remember as Liverpool ran out 6-1 winners. Prior to that, Leeds beat Liverpool 2-1 towards the end of 2022 – their only win in fourteen attempts.
Liverpool have won seven of the last ten meetings, with two draws along the way. There has been over 2.5 goals in each of the last four encounters, while both teams have scored in four of the last six.
After such a strong performance against Chelsea at Elland Road on Wednesday, this becomes a genuinely tricky match to call.
I think Leeds will compete well here and will certainly get on the scoresheet.
There have been over 2.5 goals in all of Leeds’ last six matches, as well as in the last four head-to-head meetings with Liverpool. Based on those facts, I’ll take the goals in this one.
I’ll also take a small punt on Leeds nicking the points in what should be an open game, potentially inflicting yet more woe on a Liverpool side in borderline crisis.
3pts – Over 2.5 goals – 4/6 (Bet365)
1pt – Leeds to win and both teams to score – 11/2 (Bet365)
Total staked - 4pts
