Nice vs PSG: Betting Odds & Prediction
Nice vs PSG: Betting Odds & Prediction

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain travel to a Nice side looking to secure a spot in next season's Europa League.

Nice secured a 3-2 win in the reverse fixture earlier this season, though PSG were able to beat them 3-1 in the Coupe de France in March. Kick-off is set for 8pm UK time at the Allianz Riviera.

Recent Form

Nice

The hosts are unbeaten in their last five league matches, three of which have ended in victory for Francesco Farioli's side. The run of form has left Nice fifth in Ligue 1, occupying the qualification spot for next season's Europa Conference League. They are just four points behind Brest in fourth, though, and know victory will leave them within touching distance of playing Europa League football next season.

Only four sides boast better home records than Farioli's men this term. Averaging of 1.94 points across 16 home fixtures, Nice have bounced back from shock home defeats to Montpellier and Nantes to secure back-to-back wins in their most recent outings.

The Nice backline is also unlikely to be deterred by their welcoming of the highest-scoring side in the division; they've conceded just nine goals at home all season, by far the lowest in Ligue 1, and have also kept eleven clean sheets on home soil.

PSG

The Parisians will have to improve on their recent output if they are to breakthrough the sterdy Nice defence. PSG have scored just one goal in their last three outings in all competitions, deviating from their usually impressive attacking numbers. Their 3-1 loss at home to Toulouse also made it three losses in a row following consecutive 1-0 defeats to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Nevertheless, Luis Enrique's side are unbeaten in away matches in Ligue 1 this term, and have recorded three wins on the bounce on the road. PSG have also scored 12 goals during that time, but none of the sides faced mirror the defensive record of the side they face on Wednesday evening.

Prediction

PSG have already wrapped up the Ligue 1 title and now have little to play for between now and the season's end. The same cannot be said of Nice, who still hope to secure a place in next season's Europa League, and boast an impressive record at home in the French top-flight. Combining this with their impeccable defensive record, OddsNow back the hosts to condemn the French champions to a fourth successive defeat in all competitions.
