Norwich vs Oxford: 6/4 and 28/1 betting tips for Friday clash

The Championship returns with Friday night action this weekend, as Norwich host Oxford United at Carrow Road.

Adam Drury has scoured the markets and put together 6/4 and 28/1 bet builders for the game.

Marcelino Nunez to take over 1.5 shots

Nunez's recent shot record is irresistible and means we can happily back him to take at least two on Friday evening.

The midfielder has passed this mark in all of his last six Norwich starts, taking three or more efforts on five of those occasions.

He has fired off at least three attempts in all of his last four starts at Carrow Road and Oxford are unlikely to prevent him from managing more.

The U's have given up the third-most shots in the division to opponents so far this season.

Cameron Brannagan to take over 0.5 shots

Brannagan is worth chucking in to have one shot, considering his recent efforts.

The midfielder has had an effort on goal in each of his last 10 games, including more than one in four of them.

That run includes games against Blackburn, Bristol City, Burnley, West Brom and Coventry, so he is perfectly capable of posing a threat against teams towards the top of the division.

Brannagan also had two efforts against Norwich in the reverse fixture so this should be a comfy winner.

Josh Sargent to score

As part of our long shot, we'll take Sargent to extend his superb recent goalscoring record.

The USA international has netted seven goals in seven matches since returning to the starting XI after injury earlier this year, including five in four home games.

This bet has been a winner in seven of his 10 starts at Carrow Road this season, while he ranks top of the league for goals per game of anyone to play more than once.

Oxford have conceded twice in each of their last three matches so will struggle to contain one of the Championship's leading marksmen.

Peter Kioso to be carded

To get us up to proper long-shot territory, let's include Kioso to be carded.

The feisty full-back has picked up six yellows this season, including in two of his last three away games at Stoke and West Brom.

He also puts up decent foul numbers, making at least two in four of his last seven matches.

Kioso sits top in the Oxford squad for fouls per game and that is enough for us to back him to be booked by referee James Bell, who hands out an average of nearly five cards per game.
