Premier League 2024-25 Betting Guide: Bournemouth
Premier League 2024-25 Betting Guide: Bournemouth

Bournemouth enjoyed a comfortable first season under the tutelage of Andoni Iraola despite many tipping them for the drop. Can they kick-on and secure a top-half finish in the Spaniard's second term?

We take a closer look at the Cherries' prospects ahead of the 2024/25 season.

How did Bournemouth perform in 2023-24?

A shaky start to life under new manager Iraola pointed to a long season for Bournemouth fans. However, the side resteadied themselves and went on to avoid relegation in comfortable fashion, eventually finishing in 12th place.

Striker Dominik Solanke's form particularly caught the eye; the former Chelsea and Liverpool man ended the season with an impressive 21 goals to his name. Remarkably, centre-back Marcos Senesi finished top of the assists charts for Iraola's side with five.

What to expect from Bournemouth in 2024-25

Iraola's high-pressing approach carried the Cherries to their joint-second highest ever Premier League finish last season.

The derparture of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham is a major blow, though. He was a vital cog last season, mustering 21 goals in total, making finding a ready-made replacement will be a strenuous task for the south coast side.

Nevertheless, midfielder Tyler Adams' minutes were limited last season due to injury frustrations but the American will be hopeful of featuring more regularly this season.

The permanent signing of Luis Sinisterra from Leeds will also cushion the blow felt by Lloyd Kelly's departure to the North-East.

Though they are unlikely to threaten any of the division's big boys - Bournemouth gained just one point in matches against last season's top four - Iraola's men will certainly be eyeing just their second ever top half finish in England's top-flight.

Providing key players remain injury free, the aim certainly looks an achievable one based on what we saw in the Spaniard's maiden term at the Vitality.
