RB Leipzig vs Werder Bremen: Betting Odds & Prediction

RB Leipzig look to continue their nine-match unbeaten run when they host Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in December. Kick-off is set for 2:30pm UK time at the Red Bull Arena.

Recent Form

RB Leipzig

The hosts have secured a place in next season's Champions League due to Germany receiving five qualification places for the competition. Leipzig could only manage a point in a 1-1 draw at Hoffenheim last time out, but had to play the final 20 minutes with ten men due to Xavi Simons' red card.

Boasting the fourth-best home record in the Bundesliga, Leipzig have won four of their last six home fixtures, and have also found the net seven times in their last two. Only three other sides have scored more goals on home turf than Marco Rose's men, who have netted three or more goals in seve home matches so far.

Leipzig have also impressed in defensive quarters at home; eight of their ten clean sheets have came at the Red Bull Arena, and only eleven of the 36 goals they've conceded have came in front of their home fans. This averages 0.69 per home fixture, a significant improvement on the 1.56 they've conceded on the road.

Werder Bremen

Ole Werner's men are looking for a first top-half finish in the Bundesliga since 2019. Sitting in eleventh, they are level on points with tenth-placed Heidenheim and a point off Augsburg in ninth. Recent results have been promising too, with Bremen unbeaten in their last three outings.

They have failed to replicate their promising home form on the road, though. Despite averaging 1.38 points in home fixtures, Bremen have only managed exactly one on their travels, and have only won one of their last five away matches. That sole win did come last time out, though, when they secured a 3-0 win over the aforementioned Augsburg two weeks ago.

Scoring goals has proved harder on the road, where Bremen have averaged just 1.13 per game. They've also failed to score in four of these matches.

The main issue has been at the back; Bremen have conceded just two goals less than 17th-placed Köln, and two more than Mainz, who occupy the relegation play-off spot.

Prediction

A free-scoring Leipzig side meeting a Bremen team who have made habit of conceding can only mean one thing: goals. Despite Bremen's recent form, OddsNow back the home side to secure another three points in emphatic fashion as the season's end draws closer.
