Stoke vs Sheffield United betting tips: 6/5 and 17/2 fancies

Stoke take on Sheffield United in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Friday evening, with the hosts desperate for the points they need to stay up and the visitors tuning up for the play-offs.

Our football tipster Adam Drury (@Adam_Drury1) picks out 6/5 and 17/2 bet builders ahead of the Championship contest.

Stoke vs Sheffield United betting angles - April 24, 2025

Lewis Baker shots

We’ll take one or more Lewis Baker shots for the 6/5 bet and two or more for the 17/2 longer shot.

The midfielder has been a key player for Stoke in their bid to stay in the Championship, scoring a couple of important goals and regularly offering an attacking threat from midfield.

The 29-year-old has had at least one effort on goal in 13 of his last 16 matches, including in six of eight at the Bet365 Stadium.

He has gone on to at least double that tally on seven occasions and is also his team’s penalty-taker, guaranteeing him a strike a t goal should they win a spot kick.

In such a huge home match, backing him to be at the heart of his side’s attacking efforts again makes sense.

Harrison Burrows shots

Burrows has been a regular source of attacking output for Sheffield United from left-back, scoring five goals this season and usually having a pop at goal.

The 23-year-old has had a shot in 10 of his last 14 appearances, a run you can extend to 13 of his last 18 and 16 of his last 22.

He has had multiple efforts regularly, too, including when he had two against the Potters in the reverse fixture in October.

With just one shot required for the main 6/5 bet, we’re hopeful he can extend his decent run on Friday.

Back corners

We need just eight corners for the shorter bet and 10 for the longer one, both lines that these teams have passed regularly this season.

In terms of raw numbers, Stoke matches average 10.2 corners this season, with Sheffield United up at 10.5. That puts them 12th and sixth for that metric in the division.

Prior to Monday’s defeat at Burnley, 13 consecutive Sheffield United games had featured eight corners and seven of them had reached 10.

Stoke have hit at least four by themselves in seven of their last 12 games, which is unspectacular but should be enough against an opponent whose games are seeing so many in recent weeks.

Adam Drury's betting tips for Stoke vs Sheffield United

1pt - Baker and Burrows to take 1+ shot each, over 7.5 corners - 6/5 (Bet365)

0.5pt - Baker and Burrows to take 2+ shots each, over 9.5 corners - 17/2 (Bet365)
