Tottenham welcome Leicester City on Sunday as two of the Premier League's two strugglers chase three much-needed points in the capital.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou seems to be edging closer towards the exit door. His side have now lost seven of their last 10 in the Premier League, including a damning 3-2 defeat at Everton last weekend.

Spiky responses in interviews also suggest the Australian is aware of the growing tension at the club, with the seemingly only saving grace being the potential for Carabao Cup glory.

Injuries certainly haven't helped Postecoglou's cause, but there is no excuse for the manner of some of the defeats seen in recent weeks.

His stubborn insistence to continue playing expansive football with a threadbare squad could ultimately cost him his job. Another loss against a struggling Leicester side who look destined for relegation may even prove to be the final straw.

The visitors have been even terrible themselves, having now lost seven consecutive league matches on the spin.

Ruud van Nistelrooy's men have shipped seven goals in their last two without recording a single goal themselves, leaving them two points adrift of safety in 19th.

Struggling Spurs should still find a way past this Leicester team

For all of Spurs' troubles, their main problems have been at the back. Recurring injuries to centre-back duo Cristian Romero and Mick Van de Ven have left them hamstrung, while the absence of left-back Destiny Udogie and first-choice goalkeeper have only compounded their woes further.

Leaving Postecoglou without four of his preferred back five, it is perhaps easy to understand why things haven't quite gone to plan in his second term in charge.

In fact, their attacking numbers actually make for impressive reading. Spurs have averaged 2.05 goals scored in the league, a figure which rises to 2.36 in home fixtures.

They've failed to score at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium only once and welcome a Leicester side with just one clean sheet to their name all season.

The Foxes have also conceded over 2.5 goals in an alarming 50% of matches on the road and look to be in freefall, suggesting Sunday could make for a more comfortable watch for Spurs fans.
