Toulouse vs Montpellier: Betting Odds & Prediction

Mid-table Toulouse host Montpellier on Friday evening with just three points separating the two sides in Ligue 1.

Both sides are clear of the relegation spat at the bottom of the table but are unlikely to threaten the European places with three matches of the campaign remaining. Kick-off is set for 6pm UK time.

Recent Form

Toulouse

The home side come into the match in tenth position as they look to build on last season's 13th-place finish. Toulouse are unbeaten in their last five in Ligue 1, and have won two of their last three.

However, despite averaging the fourth-best away record in the division, only four sides have a worse record on home soil than Toulouse this season. Averaging just 1.07 points, they are also winless in their last three at Stadium TFC.

Scoring and conceding exactly 20 goals, it's little surprise that seven of their 15 home outings have ended in draws. Nevertheless, Toulouse have scored at least two goals in four of their last five matches home and away.

Montpellier

Michel Der Zakarian's men are also unbeaten in five, and come into the match on the back of a 1-1 home draw to struggling Nantes. They've also won two of their last five away outings heading into the match at Stadium TFC.

Only six sides have bettered Montpellier's average of 1.33 points in away fixtures, and Der Zakarian's side are unbeaten in their last four on the road. Three of these four have ended in victory.

An average of 1.27 goals scored in away games is only marginally better than the 1.25 managed on home turf, but Montpellier have nevertheless failed to score in only five of their 15 away matches. Clean sheets have been hard to come by though; they've managed only three on the road so far.

Prediction

Though Montpellier have hardly been free-scoring in away games this season, they have managed to score twice in two of their last three outings on their travels. Coupled with Toulouse keeping just six clean sheets in total so far, OddsNow back the away side to enjoy more success going forward in this one.
