Summer Transfer Watch: Latest betting odds and tips
Summer Transfer Watch: Latest betting odds and tips

The summer transfer deadline is just days away now as clubs clamour to strengthen their squads before the window slams shut on Friday evening at 11pm.

With several big names still set to depart, Odds Now's Brad Walker runs you through the betting markets to pick out their likeliest destinations!

Ivan Toney

The England striker's days at Brentford appear numbered. Toney hasn't featured in the matchday squad for either of the Bees' two Premier League matches so far in 2024-25 and manager Thomas Frank has admitted his absences were due to ongoing interest from clubs looking to secure his signature.

Speaking ahead of Brentford's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, Frank told Sky Sports: "A lot of things are going on with Ivan, especially with transfers. There’s a lot of transfer interest. Because of all that, we’ve decided not to include him in the squad.

"Of course Ivan is a top player, we all know that. He has been fantastic for us for four years, but we showed last season we can cope without him.”

Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli have reportedly tabled a 'lucrative offer' to Toney, whose Brentford contract is set to expire next summer. And if the 28-year-old doesn't quite fancy the rumoured £250,000-a-week wages on offer from the Middle East, fellow West London club Chelsea - surprise, surprise - are also being linked.

The Blues have seemingly made a move for every man and his dog this summer - I'm half expecting Todd Boehly to drop an email in my Odds Now inbox any minute now - but to be fair to them, striker is one position they're in dire need of strengthening before the end of the window.

Whether they're able to match the wage packet on offer from their Saudi counterparts remains to be seen, but the allure of playing Premier League football and remaining in the English capital could be tempting for a man still in his peak years as a professional.

Anyhow, regardless of the destination, Toney does look to have played his final match in a Brentford shirt after four years with the club. Punters can get both Chelsea and 'any Saudi club' at a best price of 5/6 to secure the signing of the England international before the end of the window.

Nico Williams

Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams remains in-demand following his impressive performances at Euro 2024. The 22-year-old was one of the key pillars in Spain's tournament-winning side in Germany, alongside young starlet Lamine Yamal.

The latter is currently on the books of European giants Barcelona, who have been heavily-linked with a move for Williams throughout the summer. Indeed, it is the Catalans who remain favourite to land his signature should the Spaniard opt to depart Estadio de San Mamés between now and the end of the transfer window, coming in at evens with Sky Bet.

Any potential deal is complicated by the contract extension signed by Williams at the end of 2023 though, which ties him to Bilbao until the summer of 2027. The Athletic also reported at the end of July Barcelona had "practically zero chance" of signing him in this window, meaning the most likely outcome is the Spaniard will remain in Bilbao colours for the 2024-25 campaign.

The development led to him being booed by the Camp Nou faithful at the weekend, when Bilbao travelled to Barcelona for their first away game of the new La Liga season.

Arsenal have also been reported to hold an interest in Williams, but the Gunners come in at a much wider 5/1 (Sky Bet) to be his next club.

Wilfried Zaha

While a move to the Premier League appears unlikely for Williams, one man who could be making a return to England's top-flight is Galatasaray winger Wilfried Zaha.

Formerly of Crystal Palace and Manchester United, the 31-year-old is reportedly surplus to requirements in Turkey after 'falling down the pecking order' at the Super Lig club last season.

Newly-promoted Leicester City are currently favourites to land his signature (9/4, Sky Bet) as they look to strengthen their Premier League survival hopes.

Zaha may be eyeing a move to his old South London stomping ground, though. He left Palace in 2023 after two separate spells at the club which saw him score 68 Premier League goals. The Eagles are reportedly seeking a potential loan deal for the Ivory Coast winger following the departures of forwards Michael Olise and Jordan Ayew.

A third spell at Palace - permanent or otherwise - currently sits at 5/2 with Sky Bet.

Aaron Ramsdale

One man who deserves a move in this window is Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The former Bournemouth and Southampton man has hardly put a foot wrong since signing with the Gunners in 2021 but finds himself acting as David Raya's understudy at the Emirates.

While he may not possess the distribution qualities of his Spanish teammate, Ramsdale's proven his ability to shine at the top level and so it is little surprise to see multiple Premier League clubs interested in bringing him in before the window slams shut on Friday evening.

Ramsdale initially looked set for a move to Wolves, who had submitted a loan offer with an option-to-buy for £20 million. The move has since collapsed however, after 'proving too expensive' for the West Midlanders.

Nevertheless, Southampton are reportedly eyeing making a move after initial target Justin Bijlow failed his medical. The Saints now sit favourites to be Ramsdale's next club, coming in at an odds-on price of 4/6.

With time running out and all parties involved looking for a resolution, a move to St. Mary's is looking increasingly likely for the England international.

Jadon Sancho

I wouldn't be being hyperbolic if I was to describe Jadon Sancho's time at Manchester United as disastrous. The former England winger penned a five-year contract after making a £73 million move from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021 but everything has been downhill since.

He scored just 12 goals across his first two terms at Old Trafford before being rendered an outcast last season following a falling out with United manager Erik Ten Hag. Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan for the second half of 2023-24, reaching a Champions League final in the process, but has now returned to his parent club.

The riff with Ten Hag has reportedly been put to bed but Sancho remains surplus to requirements and is looking for his next move.

Renowned journalist David Ornstein reported on Tuesday that Sancho is 'likely' to depart before the window closes, whether that be via loan or in a permanent deal. Both Juventus and yes, you guessed it, Chelsea are reportedly in talks.

The Italian giants currently sit favourites to be Sancho's next destination, coming in evens with multiple sportsbooks. Sancho remaining in United colours is currently 3/1 with bet365 but is looking less likely by the hour.
