Watford vs Luton: EVS and 30/1 bets for Sunday showdown
Watford vs Luton: EVS and 30/1 bets for Sunday showdown

It's derby day in Hertfordshire on Sunday as Watford and Luton do battle at Vicarage Road.

Our tipster Adam Drury picks out an EVS NAP and a 30/1 outside bet for the Championship midday kick-off.

Imran Louza to take 1+ shot

Louza has developed into Watford's key midfielder in recent weeks and boasts shot numbers to match.

The Moroccan has had a pop in 12 of his 17 Championship starts this season, taking four, two and two in his last three outings.

With the 25-year-old in confident form, the single price of 4/7 cannot be ignored as part of our double and bet builder.

Edo Kayembe to take 1+ shot

Full disclosure, Luton's Jacob Brown would be our second shot pick at the prices (combining him with Louza produces a 6/5 double) after he had four efforts as sub against Plymouth on Wednesday, but we can't be certain he'll start.

Instead, Watford's Kayembe looks a safe enough bet.

The Congolese midfielder has had an effort in all of his last five matches, averaging 1.2 per game so far this season, and will likely start in a more advanced position than he has played for periods of this season.

The double has paid in each of the Hornets' last three games as well as on multiple other occasions this term.

It is available at evens with Unibet, despite being 4/9 with nearest rival bet365.

Imran Louza to be carded

In what is set to be a feisty derby match, we'll chuck in a couple of cards for a big-price bet builder.

Louza is included again, having conceded at least one foul in 14 of his last 16 matches. He has been penalised at least twice in 10 of those games and three times in seven of them.

He has picked up five cards on that run, so seems the obvious selection in the Watford team.

Alfie Doughty to be carded

On the Luton side, Doughty is an obvious selection.

The Hatters' left-sided player has also picked up five cards this season, having committed at least one foul in 14 of his 18 appearances.

He was penalised twice, and carded, in the reverse fixture against Watford at Kenilworth Road in October and was also booked last time out at Vicarage Road in October 2022.

A player who seems to feel the derby spirit even stronger than most, he's worth including.
