Key Stats & Analysis

West Ham come into this off the back of a cruel FA Cup quarter-final exit to Leeds on penalties, in a match where three goals were ruled out. It’s a tough one to take, but they now must regroup quickly and focus on the league, where survival remains the priority.

There are signs of improvement. Half of West Ham’s points this season have come since January, which suggests Nuno Espírito Santo is getting a response from his squad.

Against Leeds, they looked much stronger once Tomáš Souček was introduced, with his presence helping turn the game and force extra time after two late goals. Ultimately, though, missed penalties from Jarrod Bowen and Pablo proved costly.

Home form is a positive. West Ham are unbeaten in their last four at the London Stadium, although three of those have ended in draws. Their underlying numbers show a balanced side, with 1.33 xG and 1.68 xGA at home.

Wolves arrive still without an away win this season. From 15 matches on the road, they’ve picked up five draws and ten defeats. Their attacking output is the lowest in the league (0.75 xG away), while their defence allows plenty (1.8 xGA).

To give them credit, there has been some improvement under Rob Edwards. Wins over Aston Villa and Liverpool, along with draws against Arsenal and Brentford, show they can compete — but those results have largely come at Molineux. Away from home remains a major issue.

Head-to-Head

Wolves won the reverse fixture 3-0, a result that felt like a major low point in West Ham’s season at the time.

However, the pattern flips in London. West Ham have won the last five home meetings against Wolves, which is a strong trend heading into this clash.

Goals have also featured regularly, with over 2.5 landing in four of the last five meetings and both teams scoring in three of those.

West Ham vs Wolves betting angles

This feels like a “now or never” game for West Ham. With a difficult run-in ahead, this is arguably their most winnable fixture, especially against a Wolves side yet to win away all season.

The return of key players such as Konstantinos Mavropanos and Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be a boost, while late fitness calls on Crysencio Summerville and Jean-Clair Todibo could be important. At just worse than evens, West Ham to win looks the standout play.

In the bet builder, Jarrod Bowen is the focal point. He’ll be motivated after his penalty miss against Leeds and has an excellent record against Wolves — five goals and one assist in his last five home appearances in this fixture. Adding West Ham corners and shots on target fits the expected game state, with the home side likely to dominate.

There’s also value in a small side angle with Mavropanos. He’s been a real threat from set pieces recently and could easily register a shot on target. Pairing that with West Ham's dominance in corners and shots adds a higher-priced option.
