Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has been installed as the new 6/4 favourite with bookmakers to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post.
The Portuguese gaffer has endured a tough start to the season with the Old Gold. The club are languishing at the bottom of the English top flight after picking up just two points from their opening eight league matches.
The Wolves owners, Fosun International, led by chairman Jeff Shi, decided to extend Pereira's contract with a new three-year deal back in September.
It was a move that divided opinion at the time, and will come under even more scrutiny now with the club only managing two draws in the league since that deal was agreed.
Pereira managed to guide Wolves to safety last season, after a horrible start to their campaign. After a full pre-season and a summer transfer window under his belt, it was felt that the former Porto manager could start to kick on with building a squad in his own image at the Black Country club.
Unfortunately, circumstances have not transpired that way. Pereira has seen several of his summer signings, such as Fer Lopez, Tolu Arokodare, and Jackson Tchatchoua fail to have an impact. Even Jorgen Strand Larsen, who signed on a permanent deal having impressed last year, has failed to deliver the goals he grabbed in 2024-25.
The West Midlands club are now priced at a biggest 7/4 to stay up with Betfred.
It can only be assumed that the Wolves hierarchy has not pulled the trigger on sacking Pereira yet through a combination of the contract renewal and the club's impressive results in the Carabao Cup this season.
Wanderers are currently in the 4th Round with a tie scheduled against Chelsea at home later this month. A 3-2 victory at home to West Ham in the second Round and a 2-0 win against Everton at home in the third Round have provided glimpses of the success Pereira can deliver.
Remaining in the Carabao Cup could be the only thing keeping the 57-year-old in a job right now.
Pereira may be the frontrunner for the next manager to leave their post in the Premier League, but the impromptu sacking of Ange Postecoglou as Nottingham Forest head coach after just 39 days has blown the market wide open.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke is the second favourite in the market at 4/1 with BetVictor. Former Wolves man Nuno Espirito Santo is now head coach at West Ham, and he's priced at 8/1 despite only overseeing his first home game on Monday – a dire 2-0 loss to Brentford.
The trio of Burnley boss Scott Parker, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and Liverpool gaffer Arne Slot are all available at 12/1.
