The Grand Slam of Darts 2025’s group stages conclude over the next two evenings, with plenty still to be decided in the final round of pre-knockout fixtures.
Darts tipster Matt Hill offers up three wagers from across Monday’s eight matches.
Luke Humphries lit up Sunday evening in Wolverhampton with a majestic nine-darter to close out a 5-3 victory over Michael Smith – and yet, the world number one is still not mathematically assured of a spot in the knockouts.
It would take a fairly freakish set of events to see him miss out, but its not impossible. If Michael Smith can give Alex Spellman a tonking, then Nathan Aspinall could KO Cool Hand with a 5-2 or better victory.
I can’t see that happening, to be honest. But there’s no reason to think that Aspinall will go down without a fight in a game he knows he almost certainly needs to win.
The Asp has been below-par in his first two games but tends to make things competitive against Humphries, with their last six leg-format clashes all going deep.
I’m struggling to see a scenario where this doesn’t go 5-3 or 5-4 either way, so the over 7.5 legs play at 4/5 looks rock solid.
Ricky Evans is having a sublime time of things at the moment.
Having produced some excellent arrows in the last-chance qualifier to make it here, Rapid has carried that into the main event with wins over Gerwyn Price and Stefan Bellmont assuring him a place in the last 16 with a game to spare.
He’ll top Group D with victory over James Wade here and you have to question the Machine’s desire for this clash having already suffered a surprise early exit after disappointing defeats to Bellmont (5-4) and Gerwyn Price (5-0).
It was the Bellmont game that would have irked Wade most. From 3-0 up and cruising, pinned back to 3-3 and then missing multiple match darts in both of the last two legs.
He was unable to dust himself down for Sunday’s crucial showdown with Price, who blew him away, and I think backing him to bounce back here against an in-form man would take a real leap of faith.
Evans tragically lost his sister a few months ago but admitted this week that he’s in a very good place mentally now, thanks to a new relationship.
It's great to see him with a smile on his face again – and I think the popular speedster can keep the good vibes rolling here at a tasty 13/10.
Alexis Toylo has become a hot topic in the darting world over the weekend, with his pedestrian style frustrating many a viewer.
But the Asian Tour champion, like it or not, is perfectly entitled to take his time when throwing and that sluggish pace is causing some of the PDC’s most established stars serious problems.
Stephen Bunting was the first to suffer on Saturday night, looking visibly frustrated after his Filipino opponent downed him 5-4. Then, Luke Woodhouse found himself 0-2 behind on Sunday evening, before impressively roaring back to win 5-2.
Woody had to bring his very best stuff to turn that one around, averaging 104 in the end. But for a pacy player like Bunting, finding an effective rhythm proved impossible and I worry about a similar fate for Germany’s Martin Schindler here.
The Wall did wonderfully well to beat Bunting in a last-leg decider yesterday, which means victory in this one will see him progress into the last 16. But he likes to get on with it and I think the 20-30 second gaps between visits will make it very hard work for him.
Add in Schindler’s rotten record here (never making it out of the groups in five previous attempts), and there’s ample reason to think Toylo could prove a really hard man to put away here.
All told, I expect Schindler to find a way but it probably won’t be by steamrolling his opponent. Getting odds against about over 7.5 legs looks really fair to me.
1pt - Luke Humphries vs Nathan Aspinall over 7.5 legs - 4/5 (Bet365)
1pt - Ricky Evans to beat James Wade - 13/10 (various)
1pt - Martin Schindler vs Alexis Toylo over 7.5 legs - 21/20 (Betfred)
0.5pt treble - 15/2 (Betfred)
Total staked - 3.5pts
Prices correct as of 11.30pm on Sunday November 9th 2025.
