Gian van Veen was knocked out at the first hurdle of yesterday's event by Darren Beveridge, having missed match darts to win both 6-4 and 6-5 – but the youngster isn't one to dwell on such hardships.
GVV won his first floor title earlier this season and that early departure on Monday was very much out of the blue, having reached the quarter final stage or better in 33% of his Pro Tour appearances in 2025.

Still, all my points in yesterday's write-up about Heta remain valid and when this kind of price is on offer, you just have to trust the immense consistency he's shown on the floor over the last three years in particular.
He's the type of player who can easily brush off a sub-par showing and with two titles already under his belt in 2025, I'd not be one bit surprised to see that tally grow between now and Event 34.
Again, no need to repeat myself too much here having made the case for Bradley Brooks yesterday.
The PC21 winner was another to suffer a round one exit on Monday but again, a 97 average suggests there's nothing to worry about and he remains brimming with confidence after his shock success in Leicester last month.
Brooks ranks very highly in all the underlying metrics that bookmakers don't tend to factor into these type of tissue prices. I'm confident this good run is less 'flash in the pan' and more the turning of a corner for a talented young man.
