The Saturday lunchtime kick-off at 12:30pm GMT in the Premier League comes from the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth welcome Sunderland down to the South Coast.
Odds Now football tipster Terry Foord provides his take on the early kick-off in the English top flight on Saturday and offers up his best bets.
Bournemouth extended their strong run last weekend with a 0-0 draw against fellow in-form side West Ham, meaning they are now unbeaten in seven Premier League matches since the 3-2 home defeat to Arsenal. Returning to home soil only strengthens their hand, as the Cherries have been particularly reliable at the Vitality Stadium this season.
Andoni Iraola’s side averages 1.77 points per game at home while conceding just 1.08 per match, losing only twice there. They score freely too, averaging 2.62 goals per home game and keeping clean sheets in roughly 30% of those fixtures. Bournemouth’s high-intensity pressing and wide attacking play tend to overwhelm visiting sides, especially those struggling for confidence.
Sunderland, by contrast, have seen their early-season momentum fade. After briefly occupying Champions League qualification spots during the opening weeks, reality has set in. Regis Le Bris’s men now sit 12th following three consecutive defeats and a worrying run of eight away matches without a win.
Their away form is particularly concerning. Sunderland are bottom of the away form table across the last six Premier League games, scoring just two goals in that span while conceding 13. Creativity has dried up, and defensive lapses have become increasingly common when playing on the road.
Historical meetings between these sides date back over a decade and offer little relevance to the current squads.
The most recent encounter, played three months ago, saw Sunderland claim a dramatic 3-2 home victory after Bournemouth had raced into a 2-0 lead.
That collapse will still sting, but it also highlights Bournemouth’s ability to create chances against this opponent.
At the Vitality Stadium, the hosts will expect a different outcome given Sunderland’s current away struggle.
Everything about this fixture points towards Bournemouth. The contrast in form is stark: the Cherries are enjoying a sustained purple patch, while Sunderland have managed just two away goals across their last several road fixtures.
Given Sunderland’s scoring issues, a Bournemouth win to nil is very much in play. Iraola’s side controls games well at home, and if they score first, they are adept at managing the tempo and limiting opposition opportunities.
For a bigger price, I’ll include Adrien Truffert to record an assist in the bet builder. Bournemouth frequently channel attacks down the left flank, and Treffert’s overlapping runs have already produced assists against Fulham and Everton this season. This feels like the right kind of opponent for that to happen once more.
2.5pts – Bournemouth to win – 4/5 (Bet365)
0.5pts – Bournemouth to win (to nil) and Adrien Truffert to get an assist – 16/1 (Bet365)
Total staked - 3pts
