Third-placed Juventus travel to the Stadio Olimpico to face Lazio on Saturday afternoon.
The away side travel to the Italian capital with hopes of oveturning their recent form on way to Champions League qualification next season. Lazio meanwhile hope the recent hiring of new manager Igor Tudor will revitalise a side that have dropped to ninth place, having finished second last season.
Lazio have struggled in recent weeks, losing four of their last six games. They now find themselves ninth in Serie A, only one point ahead of Monza in tenth, though they did secure a 3-2 away victory at Frosinone before the international break.
The home form of Lazio has played a big role in their struggles this year; they've won just 43% of their league games on home turf, while 36% have ended in defeat. The side had struggled under former manager Maurizio Sarri, averaging just one goal per home game with a mediocre expected goal (xG) tally of 1.14. Lazio have failed to score in one third of their home matches so far this campaign.
They have been more solid defensively, though. They have managed clean sheets in 43% of games in Rome, conceding only 0.86 goals per game, which betters their expected goals against (xGA) of 1.10.
The 36-time Serie A champions have stuttered in recent weeks, picking up just one win in their last eight outings. Prior to that, they'd suffered just one defeat in 21 matches. They're also winless in their last three league games (D2, L1).
Juventus have endured mixed away form, winning 57% of their matches on the road, and average 1.57 goals per away game so far. This compares with an xG of 1.37, with 'Juve' failing to score in just 14% of games on their travels.
43% of their away games have also seen clean sheets for Juventus, who have conceded an impressive 0.93 goals per away match so far. This is far better than their xGA of 1.93.
Both sides come into the match with strong defensive records. Juventus tend to score on the road though, while Lazio have struggled to find the net at the Olimpico this term. We expect this one to be another low-scoring affair, though the match remains too up-in-the-air for a moneyline pick.
