Newcastle vs Manchester City Bet Builder tips - Saturday 22nd November 2025

Odds Now's resident football tipster Matthew O'Regan lives up to his longshot reputation by pulling together a 150/1 Bet Builder for Newcastle vs Manchester City on Saturday evening.

With no more international football until March, Premier League football is back on our screens – as is the glorious 5.30pm kick off.

I love these games. You go to the pub for the early game (drink responsibly), then head to your 3pm game, before trudging back to the pub to watch the late kick off with more beers and bets (again, drink and gamble responsibly).

If you find yourself in such situation and fancy a tickle on the 5.30pm kick off, I have you covered with a 150/1 bet builder.

Newcastle vs Manchester City Bet Builder angles

Kieran Trippier - 4 tackles/ 2 fouls/ to be carded

Frivolous (allegedly) off the pitch but an experienced leader on it, Kieran Trippier could be in for a long evening here.

Before getting to his direct opponents stats, Trippier is averaging 2.55 tackles per 90 minutes and 1.09 fouls.

As mentioned, this looks a tough assignment for him as he'll be marking the ever-slippery Jeremy Doku, who is a full back's worst nightmare.

Below, are the opposition full back's numbers from this season when the Belgian has played more than 60 minutes for City:

Doherty: 3 tackles, 3 fouls (card)

Mazraoui/Mainoo: 5 tackles, 2 fouls

Di Lorenzo: Sent off after 21 minutes

Timber: 7 tackles, 1 foul (card)

Walker: 1 tackles, 1 foul (card)

Mourino: 6 tackles, 4 fouls (card)

Key: 3 tackles

Jiminez/Cook: 4 tackles

Ryerson: 2 tackles, 3 fouls

Bradley/Gomez: 3 tackles, 2 fouls (card)

So, while my selections may seem a tad optimistic, you can see how a veteran defender in their twilight years could easily end up having rings run around him on Saturday evening.

Josko Gvardiol To Be Fouled

A combination of Nico O’Reilly’s form and defensive injuries has seen Josko Gvardiol shifted back to centre back in recent weeks.

The Croatian has seen his fouls draw output increase since October as a result, winning 1,1,1,0,2,2,1 fouls in his last eight games.

The appeal of this bet comes from his direct opponent, though – Nick Woltemade. The big German is averaging 1.42 fouls per 90 minutes, so expect an intense battle between him and Gvardiol here.

Nico Gonzalez To Be Carded

Signed in January to then only be a bit-part player until end the season, Nico Gonzalez looks to have earned a place as a starter at City. The Spaniard has now started four games in a row and should get the nod again here.

Since signing from Porto, Gonzalez is averaging 1.37 fouls per 90 minutes, as well as 0.32 yellows per 90.

With 11 centre midfielders already booked against Newcastle’s industrious midfield trio, Gonzalez looks good odds to make it 12.
