Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool: How to Watch, Betting Odds & Prediction

Liverpool travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday as the away side look to extend the gap at the top after successive wins in the domestic cups.

Forest meanwhile look to bounce back from defeat to Aston Villa last weekend.

How to Watch Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool in the UK:

The match is not being broadcast live but highlights will be available on the Sky Sports YouTube channel shortly after full-time.

Team News:

Nuno Espirito Santo's Forest will be without top scorer Chris Wood who is still out with a thigh injury, along with Ibrahim Sangare and Willy Boly who returned from AFCON earlier in the month with injuries. Nuno Tavares and Oloaluwa Aina are also out for the home side.

The injury list for Liverpool is lengthy. Klopp's side were without first team starters Darwin Nunez, Mohammed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Alisson, Curtis Jones, Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic. Ryan Gravenberch was also forced off in the Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea.

Recent Form:

Forest hope to cause an upset as they try to bounce back after two defeats in a row in the league and FA cup midweek. They lost 4-2 to Aston Villa last time out in the league, along with a late goal conceded at home to Manchester United on Wednesday night.

The home side have won just one league game in 2024 - a run which has seen them drop to 17th. The club were also charged by the Premier League for breaching financial rules and will learn their fate no later than April meaning every point counts between now and the end of the season.

A win will see Forest seven points clear of the drop if Luton lose their game against Aston Villa, who also have a game played less than Forest (25 compared to Forest's 26).

Liverpool have played seven league games so far in 2014 - winning six wins and losing one (away at Arsenal earlier this month). The Reds are looking to make it four wins in a row before a heavyweight clash at Anfield the following week vs title rivals Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp's side stand as the league's top scorers with 63 goals in 26 games.

Betting Odds:

Liverpool predictably head to the East Midlands as solid favourites on Saturday afternoon. QuinnBet have the league leaders at 8/15 on the moneyline, carrying an implied probability of 65.22%.

The two-time European Cup winners Forest come in at 5/1 with Bet365 despite holding home advantage, carrying an implied probability of 16.67%.

Prediction:

Despite Forest's 1-0 home victory over Liverpool last season, OddsNow back Klopp's side to move a step closer to Premier League glory on the manager's farewell tour. Dutch forward Cody Gakpo is expected to lead the line and, despite missing a host of chances midweek, can be backed to find the net on the way to a narrow victory for the Merseyside club.

OddsNow's Pick: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Liverpool with Gakpo to score anytime (3.59/1 @ Bet365)
