Matthew O'Regan football betting tips for Saturday, 25th October 2025

Odds Now’s resident football tipster Matthew O’Regan is back with the latest edition of his longshots column, aiming to arm you with some big-priced wagers for Saturday’s action across the English leagues.

O'Regan's Longshots: Saturday, October 25th 2025

1pt - Manchester United vs Brighton – Brighton Win and Both Teams To Score - 9/2 (Bet365)

Saturday’s late kick off sees my beloved Brighton travel to Old Trafford to face a Manchester United who have won back-to-back games.

The Seagulls have enjoyed a fruitful few seasons against the Red Devils, winning on their last three visits to the Theatre Of Dreams. Brighton have the chance to leapfrog their hosts with a win and will arrive with expectations of doing just that.

Albion games have been entertaining this term, with BTTS landing in all bar the season opener against Everton – a game in which they hit the woodwork twice, missed two open goals and a penalty.

So that’s a 1-4 drubbing and then out into town for a few too many lagers in Manchester coming my way, no doubt...

1pt - Ipswich vs West Brom- Isaac Price To Score anytime – 4/1 (Bet365)

I love Isaac Price. I don’t know why – I just love him. The 22-year-old is one of the most exciting players to watch in the league and West Brom would be a lot worse off without him, that’s for sure.

His long-range strike against Watford epitomised all that’s good about him – a deftly executed finish into the top bins. What a player.

He now has five goals in 11 starts, so the quoted price of 4/1 for him to score looks a tad big – particularly against an Ipswich side who conceded three in midweek to Charlton and are yet to really get going this term.

1pt - Middlesbrough vs Wrexham – Nathan Broadhead To Score - 5/1 (Bet365)

Nathan Broadhead is another player who looks far too big a price to get on the scoresheet again this weekend.

The Welshman scored midweek against Oxford – his second league goal in just 305 minutes. He also got on the scoresheet for Wales against Belgium, and against Reading in the Carabao Cup.

The brace and hat trick doubles will be getting a tickle too come midday Saturday from me.

1pt - Millwall vs Leicester – Zak Sturge To Be Booked – 3/1 (Bet365)

Millwall fan favourite Zak Sturge was signed on a permanent in the summer after a strong loan stint from Chelsea.

The exuberant full back is keeping veteran Joe Bryan out of the side with a string of good performances. I won’t bore you with his stats too much but the 21-year-old has been booked twice in five starts this season.

However, the main angle here is just to oppose whoever is against Abdul Fatawau. The dynamic winger is averaging 2.37 fouls won per 90, so Sturge will be in for a long afternoon down at The Den.

It should be a great battle – but the youngster may end up needing to take one for the team at some point.

0.5pt - Bolton vs Cardiff – Omari Kellyman To Score Anytime – 6/1 (Bet365)

Omari Kellyman was a prolific striker in his youth days with Aston Villa before Chelsea (no surprises there) snapped him up to add to their stockpile of exciting young talents deprived of game time.

Cardiff have since loaned the 20-year-old, giving him his first experience of first team football – a few sporadic minutes at Villa aside.

He had to make do with being a bit part player in the opening games, before starting and scoring against Reading – a pearler from the edge of the box.

The Welsh giants are playing Bolton – a team I don’t trust defensively, so 6/1 could be a snip if Kellyman dazzles again.

1pt - Northampton vs Luton – Northampton To Win – 13/4 (Bet365)

Surely things can’t get worse for Luton Town?

Back-to-back relegations has seen the Hatters plummet back to League One, with Matt Bloomfield's slow start to the season seeing him dismissed.

Instead of doing the sensible thing and hiring a proven manager to lift them out the dirt, The Hatters have taken the punt on appointing Jack Wilshere as manager – his first ever senior role on the touchline.

Things didn’t go to plan in his opener, losing 0-2 at home to Mansfield. The vastly experienced Nigel Clough had his number that day and Kevin Nolan will be licking his lips ahead of Saturday. I’m sure.

I thought Northampton were bankers to go down but the Cobblers have proven me wrong. They sit 11th in the league with Nolan making them extremely hard to beat – particularly at home.

In front of their own supporters, Town have kept four clean sheets in six and they will relish going up against one of the ‘bigger teams’ in this division again after they recently swept Bolton aside.

1pt - Worthing vs Dover – Worthing Win and BTTS – 13/5 (Bet365)

I’ve wanted an excuse to back my local club Worthing for weeks and the return of the beautiful king Adam Hinshelwood to the dugout presented me with the perfect opportunity.

After Chris Agutter somehow convinced Sutton to appoint him – despite a lacklustre start to the season, the name on everyone’s lips was Hinshelwood.

His appointment seemed a distant dream but lo and behold he has signed a three-year deal, bringing the feel good factor back to the South Coast. The Rebels have won both league games under him since returning – both 1-2 away at Chelmsford and Chesham – and Woodside Road will be bouncing for his first league game back in the dugout.

They face a Dover side who have been entertaining to say the least. The Whites are tenth in the league, scoring 22 goals and conceding 21. Jake Leberl believes his side can go toe-to-toe with any team. Of their 14 games, 11 have seen BTTS – including their last nine.

1pt - Hearts vs Celtic – Hearts Win and Both Teams To Score – 5/1 (Various)

I’m going continental with my final selection (if Edinburgh counts).

Hearts sit five points clear at the summit of the table, with Uncle Tony’s Bloom’s high-flying Jambos leaving the rest of Scotland trailing in their wake.

Jamestown Analytics has unearthed some gems – most notably Claudio Braga and Alexandros Kyzirdis . Both wingers have had a sizeable impact on the start of the season that has seen the perennial mid-table outfit pick up 22 points from 18 games.

Celtic have had a poor start to the season with protests against the board in full swing. Hearts will relish the chance of felling the giant and going eight points clear at the top. And I think they can do it.

Bonus Bet - Early kick-off trixie

Because I treat you so well, I have an unofficial shots trixie from the early Championship games. Give it a go, to a stake of your desire! I’ll take a 1pt total stake (so 0.25pt per line) for a rough guide.

Despite only being in his early 20s, Matthew O'Regan has wasted little time making a name for himself as a sound footballing judge.

With a strong social media following, gained as a result of his uncanny ability to repeatedly land big-priced winners, Matthew now shares his insights on the beautiful game – and how to profit on it – as his profession.

He credits most of his betting skill to working in a bookmaker shop as a youngster, seeing the silly mistakes most punters make which inspired him to try and attack things from a different angle.

When he's not scouring markets and writing columns, Matthew follows Brighton and his local non-league club Worthing.
