Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo: Betting Odds & Prediction

League leaders Real Madrid host relegation-threatened Celta Vigo on Sunday evening.

Madrid look to return to winning ways following a 2-2 away draw at Valencia away last weekend. Kick-off is set for 5:30pm UK time.

Recent Form

Real Madrid have drawn their last two games in all competitions. A 1-1 home draw versus RB Leipzig secured their passage to the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, while talisman Jude Bellingham was dismissed in the aftermath of the draw in Valencia. The Englishman now faces a two-game suspension.

The result in Valencia was their third draw in five league games, but Los Blancos still maintain a seven-point lead at the top of La Liga. Bellingham sits as the club's top-scorer so far with 20 goals in all competitions, but the blow of his absence will be cushioned by the goalscoring threats of Vinicius Jr and Joselu. Both have 14 goals each so far this campaign.

Celta Vigo are fighting to remain in the division. Rafael Benitez' side have taken four points from a possible six against relegation rivals Cadiz and Almeria in their most recent outings which has seen them move five points clear of the drop.

Norwegian striker Jørgen Strand Larsen is their best bet on grabbing a goal, having already scored nine in the league so far.

Team News

Bellingham is suspended for Madrid following his red card last week, while Thibaut Courtois, Éder Militão and David Alaba all remain out with cruciate ligament injuries. Militao is however expected to return to training this month.

Celta Vigo meanwhile have an ever-growing injury list. Mihailo Ristic, Carlos Dotor, Renato Tapia, Williot Swedberg and Miguel Rodríguez all joined Joseph Aidoo in the treatment room in February.

Betting Odds

Madrid predictably enter as strong favourites to return to winning ways at home. Coral have them at 3/10 (an implied probability of 76.9%) to get the three points.

Betfair and 888Sport only give Celta a 10/1 (9.1%) chance of getting a win away from home, while bet365 and PaddyPower have a draw at 9/2 (an implied probability of 18.2%).

Prediction

OddsNow expect Madrid to win in a high-scoring match as they continue their dominance at the top of the La Liga table.

OddsNow's Pick: Madrid to win with over 4.5 goals (7/2 @ Betfair)
