SC Freiburg vs West Ham United: How to Watch, Betting Odds & Prediction

West Ham United travel to the Europa-Park Stadion to face SC Freiburg in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie on Thursday.

The Hammers will be looking to repeat their previous results against the German outfit having beaten them twice during this season's group stage.

How to Watch Freiburg vs West Ham in the UK:

UK viewers will be able to access the match live on TNT Sports 2 on Thursday evening with live coverage starting at 7:45pm. The game is set to kick-off at 8pm. Highlights of the match will be uploaded to the TNT Sports' YouTube channel after full-time.

Recent Form:

The hosts head into the tie with zero wins in their last three league games. Positives can be drawn from their most recent draw against German champions Bayern Munich after talisman Lucas Höler secured the point for his side with a last minute equaliser.

In their last fixture in this competition, Freiburg were able to overcome Ligue 1 side RC Lens in a dramatic 3-2 second leg victory where they initially found themselves 2-0 down . The German side took their spot in the Round of 16 following a brace and 92nd minute equaliser from Roland Sallai and a goal from Michael Gregoritsch in extra-time.

West Ham ended an eight-game winless streak after collecting all six points from their last two Premier League matches. David Moyes' side secured a 4-2 home victory over Brentford before a goal of the season contender from Tomas Soucek helped them on the way to a 3-1 away win against Everton.

The Londoners will be looking towards forward stars Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus to help them ease into the quarter-final stage. The pair have registered six goal involvements between them in their last two outings.

Kudus will be looking to add on to his current tally of three goals in the competition with his last goal being against Thursday's opponents.

Team News:

Freiburg remain without Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Kenneth Schmidt, Lukas Kübler and Max Rosenfelder until late March. The hosts may receive a boost in the return of Philipp Lienhart who has been out with a groin injury.

West Ham's Maxwell Cornet has been ruled out for a ‘few weeks’ with a thigh injury.

Betting Odds:

The German side head into the match as narrow favourites. BetUK offer Freiburg to win outright at 8/5, carrying an implied probability of 38.46%. West Ham come in at 9/5 with PaddyPower and Betfair, with an implied probability of 35.71%.

William Hill offer the draw at 5/2, with an implied probability of 28.57%.
