The new English Football League season is firmly up and running – and with it has come the return of Odds Now's popular EFL Betting Show.
All 72 EFL clubs play their third league fixture of the 2026-27 campaign over the coming days, meaning it is a packed slate of Championship, League One and League Two action for punters to get stuck into.
In the hosting chairs this season are Matt Hill and Felix Morson-Pate, who Odds Now viewers will have seen plenty of during our extensive coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Each weekend, Matt and Felix will delve into the EFL coupon and pick out their three strongest betting selections – a NAP, Next Best and Longshot – alongside plenty of analysis and discussion from across all three divisions.
And the lads have pulled no punches with their predictions for Matchday Three!
2026/27 EFL Betting Show – Saturday August 29th tips
Matt is siding with Wolves to win and over 1.5 goals at 3/4 with bet365 for his best bet of the weekend. Wolves have made an encouraging goalscoring start to the campaign and, up against a Stoke side who have struggled in the early weeks, he expects them to have too much attacking quality.
Felix believes the market has overreacted to Blackpool’s strong start and is happy to oppose the Tangerines at the prices. He’s backing Peterborough double chance at 21/20, fancying Posh to come away with at least a point.
Goals are the angle for Matt when Bristol Rovers host Crawley, with over 2.5 goals available at 19/20. He expects both sides to score plenty this season, with Rovers making a bright start to their title push under the wily Steve Evans and Colin Kazim-Richards setting Crawley up to play attacking football.
Felix is backing Rochdale to beat Colchester at 21/10 and register their first victory of the season. Dale have been unfortunate to lose their opening two matches despite enjoying plenty of possession, and he believes they could have more luck breaking down a Colchester side he is yet to be convinced by.
Matt is keeping faith with Plymouth despite their difficult start, backing the Pilgrims to win and both teams to score against Bradford at 16/5 with Unibet. He still rates Tom Cleverley’s men among League One’s stronger sides and believes they can rise to the occasion at Home Park against a dangerous Bantams outfit.
Felix completes his trio with another win-and-BTTS angle, taking Derby to beat Swansea with both teams scoring at 4/1. The Rams have seen both teams find the net in every competitive game so far and he expects them to ultimately prove too strong for a Swansea side that has failed to impress him.
