The new English Football League season is beginning to take shape – and the EFL Betting Show is back for another weekend of Championship, League One and League Two betting action.
Matt Hill and Felix Morson-Pate are once again in the hosting chairs, working their way through Saturday’s coupon to identify where the value might lie across the three divisions.
Each weekend, Matt and Felix put forward their three strongest selections – a NAP, Next Best and Longshot – alongside plenty of analysis, debate and discussion on the latest developments around the EFL.
There are six more bets on the table this week, ranging from odds-on favourites to a 30/1 longshot.
2026/27 EFL Betting Show – Saturday September 12th tips
Matt’s NAP this week comes from League Two, where he is confidently backing Walsall to beat Rochdale with over 1.5 match goals at 20/21. Dale have had a tough start to life back in the EFL and boss Ian Watson is already under pressure following last weekend’s heavy home loss to Gillingham. Matt believes an unbeaten Saddlers side are poised to pile on more misery on Saturday.
Felix is up in League One for his best bet, where he’s tipping Blackpool to beat Bromley at 4/5. Ian Evatt’s side have largely impressed in their opening fixtures and look like they could be potential top six contenders. On the other hand, Andy Woodman’s visitors arrive off the back of three heavy defeats and could have another tough afternoon in store on the Fylde coast.
Matt’s next best this weekend comes in League One, where he thinks promotion hopefuls Huddersfield can get the better of Mansfield at Field Mill. The Terriers are 11/10 to take all three points on their travels and our man thinks a quality gap between the two sides may be crucial here.
For his next best, Felix fancies York to beat Swindon with over 1.5 match goals at a 10/11. Last season’s National League champions have made a steady start to life back in the big time and are fancied by our expert to see off their visitors in what should be an entertaining affair.
Longshots time and Matt has gone for a slighty more straightforward approach than Felix! He is backing under 1.5 goals in Portsmouth vs Charlton at 11/5, fancying this contest between two well organised and at times attritional outfits to be decided by very thin margins – particularly trusting in Nathan Jones’ side to stay compact on their travels.
Felix has gone more extravagant this week, with a Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 goals match treble. The games in question are Preston vs Lincoln, Sheffield Wednesday vs Wigan and Oldham vs Chesterfield. You can hear his full reasoning for each by watching the show above!
