World of Wagers: Global football betting tips for Saturday, January 10th 2026

Odds Now’s resident football data expert Felix Morson-Pate is back with his latest World Of Wagers column, where he heads on a quest for value across some of football’s more obscure leagues.

Germany, Spain and Mexico are on this week's menu as he offers up three betting fancies for Saturday January 10th, 2026.

These selections are all based off deriving value from my own ratings, which are based off of a combination of underlying performance data and market opening and closing lines to determine the true strengths of teams, both in general and in their home/away splits.

The three prices quoted can be found with Bet365 at the time of writing.

Selection #1 - Freiburg -0.75 Asian Handicap vs Hamburg - EVS

These two sides are a little closer on their performances than a glance at the table may suggest.

However, the long winter break and Hamburg’s rather poor away record thus far in their top flight return leads me to wanting to be with a Freiburg side that will be keen to build up some momentum before a pair of crucial final Europa League games.

With a half win here in the case of a single goal home victory and a side showing strength on their own patch, it feels a nice angle in on the Bundesliga’s return to action.

Over 2.25 Asian Goals in Las Palmas vs Deportivo La Coruna - 37/40

An intriguing match up in Spain’s second division sees second host fifth and it brings quite the clash of styles.

La Coruna have scored nine goals more than their hosts in 20 games to date, but conceded 11 more, meaning there is exactly a goal per game difference in an average game featuring these sides.

With these kinds of contests, it’s sometimes difficult to tell who will pull the other more in their direction but I personally like to favour the total going up when it’s two sides in good nick facing off. The confidence and momentum that winning brings suggests that even if the game is tight, I think both sides can contribute to overcoming this goal line.

Deportivo games rarely disappoint for entertainment, whilst if Las Palmas can stamp their authority in this one early, they’ve already shown this season that they can rack up a scoreline.

Under 2.5 Asian Goals in Atlas vs Puebla - 17/20

We head to Mexico for our final selection as they begin their ‘Clausura’, or second half of the season, this weekend.

Both sides head into the reset in middling at best form, picking up four and seven points from their last five respectively (although that jumps to 11 and four when looking at the home/away splits).

With such inconsistent form, and with both wanting to improve on a poor ‘Apertura’ where they finished 13th and 18th (out of 18), I suspect a cagey affair is on the cards as neither side will want to lose their opener and put themselves on the back foot already after a winter of contemplation.

The best angle in that case is to back a low scoring affair and hope nerves play their part in a tight contest.
