World of Wagers: Global football betting tips for Saturday, January 31st 2026

Odds Now’s resident football data expert Felix Morson-Pate is back with his latest World Of Wagers column, where he heads on a quest for value across some of football’s more obscure leagues.

Spain, Greece, and Peru are on this week's flight map as he delivers three betting tips for Saturday, January 31st, 2026.

These selections are all based on deriving value from my own ratings, which are based on a combination of underlying performance data and market opening and closing lines to determine the true strengths of teams, both in general and in their home/away splits.

All prices quoted are with Bet365. Let’s get into this week’s three picks!

Selection #1: Over 2.5 Asian goals Osasuna vs Villarreal - 17/20

Despite their games tempering a little bit in recent weeks, Villarreal are one of the best sides to watch in Spain if you want entertainment… and goals. They’re flying high in La Liga, sit in 4th with a 7-point buffer (and a game in hand) on chasing Espanyol, and travel to an Osasuna side who are firmly sat in one of the tightest mid-tables you will ever come across at this stage in the season.

I think the main reason the Asian line is perhaps only set at 2.5 here is that these two sides have some of the lowest BTTS stats in the division, but I’m banking on the fact that both Villarreal games consistently feature at least two goals (all bar one league game) and we’re expecting a fairly tight game which both sides will be confident of winning.

A 2-1 either way here feels very feasible, and that’s all we need to get the job done.

Selection #2: Aris Salonika -0.5 AH vs Panetolikos - 41/40

Mid-table Greek Super League side Aris travel to the bottom of the pile, Panetolikos, in a match-up between two sides in pretty abject form, particularly when looking at their home and away splits.

Both sides have picked up just 1 win in their last five at home/on the road, with Panetolikos in particular picking up just 6 points from 9 home games all season and losing their last 4 on the spin.

They’re also the only side in the league to be generating less than one expected goal per home game (based on the quantity and quality of shots they create), and it’s these underlying performance metrics that have pointed me towards Aris perhaps picking up a crucial away win here.

They are underperforming at both ends of the pitch so far (about 2 goals scored fewer and 1.5 goals more conceded than would be expected), numbers which likely mean they’re not too far away from a few kinder bounces of the ball going their way and some more positive variance in terms of goals and ultimately results.

Selection #3: Juan Pablo II College -0.25 AH vs Cajamarca - 17/20

Let’s end with a bit of a flyer as the Peruvian top flight kicks off again this weekend, and I’ve found one match-up that my personal ratings make excellent value based on how the two sides ended last season.

I’d have JPII quite strong favourites at home here (around 8/11 to win), and money seems to have come for them too, suggesting the initial market assessment was at least quite far from the true price.

We have a bit of insurance here with half our stake refunded in the event of a draw, so to have that and still get paid out at bigger than my ‘fair’ odds should they open the campaign with a win seems too good to pass on, despite the caveat of no recent form data to go off.

These kinds of bets can feel uncomfortable at times, but that’s all part of the fun and games of using a model to help you decide on your selections!
