Liverpool 4/9 for trophyless season as dreadful run continues

Liverpool have been installed at 4/9 with leading UK bookmaker Bet365 to finish the 2025/26 season trophyless after a poor start to the campaign.

Reds losing streak continues

The Reds currently sit in 7th place in the Premier League, having lost their last four league games. That awful run of form has left Arne Slot's team 7 points off the pace of the league leaders Arsenal, leaving the reigning champions' title defence in tatters.

Slot was the focus of more criticism this week after he fielded a severely weakened line-up for the club's Carabao Cup 4th Round clash with Crystal Palace. The Eagles prevailed as 3-0 winners at Anfield, leaving many fans questioning why the Dutchman showed such a lack of respect to the fans and competition with his team selection. The loss was a 6th defeat in 7 games for Liverpool.

Liverpool started the cup game with a team consisting largely of fringe and youth players, including third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, fifth captain Joe Gomez, and 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha, who lined up alongside Calvin Ramsay, Trey Nyoni, Wataru Endo, and Federico Chiesa.

The bench was even more inexperienced with the likes of Kaide Gordon, Trent Kone-Doherty, Wellity Lucky, and Amara Nallo. The last of those young players was sent off within 12 minutes of being substituted on for Alexis Mac Allister.

No end in sight

The bad news for Liverpool fans is that the fixtures show no sign of letting up over the coming weeks. Slot will see his team host an in-form Aston Villa in the Premier League this Saturday evening.

The team then welcomes Real Madrid to Anfield in the Champions League just 3 days later. The Reds must then travel to Manchester City for their next league game the following Sunday.

In this current run of form, it's hard to see how Liverpool can get any wins from those next three matches. Even the odds of 13/8 with Bet365 for Liverpool to win any trophy this season feel a little bit short right now.

Bookies cast doubt on Liverpool success

It's fair to say that bookmakers up and down the UK have little confidence in Liverpool winning a trophy this season. Betway is offering odds of 8/1 on Liverpool somehow turning their league form around and defending their title reign to lift the Premier League trophy this season.

Several bookmakers have priced the Merseyside club at 8/1 to win the Champions League. Coral and Ladbrokes have listed the Reds at 9/2 to win the FA Cup this season.

Bet365 is also offering a range of specials on Liverpool's trophy chances this season, including winning the Premier League and FA Cup double at 25/1, achieving a Premier League and Champions League double at 40/1, and defying expectations to win the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup treble at 200/1.
