Wolves tipped to struggle as Strand Larsen linked with Newcastle move

Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers are now no bigger than 10/3 to be relegated from the top-flight this season.

The odds available for Wolves to drop down into the Championship come amidst speculation that towering striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is being linked with a potential £60 million move to rivals Newcastle.

It's been heavily publicised over the summer that the Magpies are on the lookout for a replacement for last season's top scorer, Alexander Isak. The Swedish international has made it clear he wants to leave Eddie Howe's team in pursuit of a move to Liverpool.

After supposedly missing out on a number of previous targets including Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko, Larsen is the latest man on their radar – a move which could spell trouble for the Norwegian's current employers.

Strand Larsen departure terminal for Wanderers?

If the current price on Wolves to be relegated is with Strand Larsen still at the club, then there's every chance those odds could shorten should the target man depart the Black Country outfit.

Burnley are the current bookies' favourites to go down this season at odds of 2/5. Sunderland are the second favourites at 4/9, with Leeds priced at 7/5 and Brentford available at 3/1.

Black Cats ones to watch after Guiu arrival?

One team that might be worth keeping an eye on this season in the battle for survival is Sunderland.

Regis Le Bris' team have looked to strengthen their squad this season as they launch an assault on the English top division.

Undoubtedly, their marquee signing this summer is Chelsea striker Marc Guiu. The highly-rated 19-year-old has joined the Wearsiders on a season-long loan and is considered one of the best young strikers in European football.

Enzo Maresca rates the youngster, but the Blues were keen to free up squad space for their plans to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in the coming weeks.

The former Barcelona man is one of 11 new signings for last season's Championship play-off winners, including former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka, Brighton midfielder Simon Adingra, and Strasbourg central midfielder Habib Diarra.
