Drops back in grade. Having run 2 fair enough races the last twice in class 4 handicaps. He drops back to class 5 handicap company this time. His form figures in this grade read 12. He's now 10lbs below his last winning mark, also.
Admittedly, it's been a while since his last win. He's still run well off much higher marks than this. He finished a close-up 3rd in the North Yorkshire Grand National at this track off a mark of 113 (jockey claimed 3lbs, so essentially 110 he ran off). Beaten just 2L behind Track And Trace and Crixus's Escape. May well have finished closer but for the mistake at the last fence.
He also ran a sound race over CD 2 runs before that solid effort at the track mentioned above. He was beaten 7L by the winner Some Scope, back in 4th place. That form looks well with the winner going on to subsequently win the Rowland Meyrick off a 14lbs higher mark (essentially 7lbs higher with the jockey's 7lbs claim taken into account).
Any rain that falls would further aid his cause. This race looks weak enough and won't take much winning at all. The jockey's 5lbs claim is also an added bonus here.
Makes her belated chase debut. Given a low mark of 75. Pitched into a weak enough class 5 handicap chase. Her career record of 1 win and 4 places from 16 runs over hurdles tells you she's not one to heavily rely on. Her sole career win did come over CD, however.
She absolutely demolished the opposition when winning here over CD off a 1lb higher mark than this. She left the runner-up Kingoftheswingerz nearly 8L behind her.
Her run at Cartmel off a 1lb lower mark than this also rates decent form for the level. She was a very unlucky loser behind Skyjack Hijack. Beaten by just a neck by the winner. She ran on strongly. Only just failing to reel in the winner, despite still being 3L behind him at the final hurdle. The winner franked the form. Going on to compete a 5 timer after defeating the selection.
She's potentially got a bit up her sleeve, switching her attention to the larger obstacles of this type of mark. Her Dam was a 2 time chase winner. Winning off a higher mark than this. If she takes to the larger obstacles at the first attempt. I think she's better than her current mark. Sean Bowen takes over from 5lbs claimer Shane Fenlon this time.
