Lee Butterworth (@ButtysBets on X) is back to offer his daily betting selections from the National Hunt sphere right here on OddsNow.com.
Lee flags up anything that takes his eye each weekday morning, with all stakes tracked for P/L purposes.
Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled on Odds Now for SD's Lunchtime Tip, too – it lands exclusively on site between 12.30pm and 1pm every weekday.
Ben Solo goes up in trip today following what was only a fair effort on chase debut here a fortnight ago.
The handicapper has dropped him 2lbs for the last run, with trainer Rebecca Curtis enlisting the services of 5lbs claiming jockey Jamie Brace this time – essentially making this lad 7lbs better off than he was for his seasonal blowout over the minimum trip.
He steps up in trip this time having placed twice at this distance over hurdles, finishing second on both occasions. He also won his sole point run over 3M, suggesting that stepping up in trip will only enhance his chances.
His breakthrough novice hurdle win (sole win over hurdles) came at Chepstow too. He beat Beau Quali in a battling finish to the line there, with just 3/4L seperating them at the finish wiith Farland a further 6L adrift in third.
The softer ground will be in his favour here. Set to strip fitter for the reappearence run, I'd expect a better showing this time with him essentially being 7lbs lower here with that recent run in the bank.
Move It Like Minnie drops in grade here after a superb effort over course and distance last time out.
It should be said that this looks a competitive affair given the grade. Recent Grade 2 scorer Fortune De Mer warrants respect in particular. However, I'm happy to side with the selection on the basis of race fitness, a kind weight and a liking for this venue.
At Ascot, Move It Like Minnie has form figures of 44363 – but that doesn't tell the whole story. Most of those runs came in extremely deep handicaps, much stronger than this one. A fourth-place finish behind Luccia is the standout form, less then 3L behind the winner there. There was some real class in that field including Impose Toi (second), Altobelli (third), Hansard (fifth), Iberico Lord (seventh), Falvoir (eighth) and Teddy Blue (ninth).
He's had two runs this term, putting in decent showings on both occasions. The most recent was, as mentioned, over this course and distance where he went down 3L to Alexei. The winner has obviously franked that form very well by winning the Greatwood with plenty in hand last weekend.
A repeat of that level gives him very solid claims today.
1pt win- 1.34pm Chepstow - Ben Solo - 5/1 (William Hill)
1pt - 2.35pm Ascot - Move It Like Minnie - 3/1 (various)
Total staked - 2pts
Prices correct as of 10am on Friday, November 21st 2025.
