Daily expert horse racing betting tips - Monday November 24th 2025

Butty's Bets - horse racing tips for Monday November 24th 2025

1.55pm Kempton - Lunar Power - 8/1 (various)

Lunar Power moves up in trip this time with the handicapper kindly dropping him 2lbs for the last run.

Since leaving his former trainer Noel Meade, he's yet to win for two different stables in this country. He lost his way completely for Donald McCain, barring a couple of placed efforts on the flat for that stable.

Since joining the James Owen yard, he's had three runs. He ran no race at all on stable debut with a first-time visor failing to do the trick. However, he ran a much better race at this course (sole run here) on his penultimate run, with cheekpieces enlisted instead.

He finished a clear second over slightly shorter than this (2M 5F), 11L behind Turndlightsdownlow. To be fair, he was giving 25lbs in weight to the winner – and that form received a boost with Turndlightsdownlow going up 10lbs for that win and winning by 7L again next time out.

Admittedly, the selection ran a lesser race on his most recent run. He tried to force the pace, going clear with Man Of The Sea. They both cost themselves any chance of winning, slitting each other's throats with a quick gallop and eventually finishing third and fourth.

A mark of 110 is laughable though, given he won off a mark of 129 over in Ireland (ridden by a 7lbs claimer on that occasion). The blinkers replace the cheekpieces this time, which is noteworthy as he won off that higher mark in Ireland sporting blinkers.

Finally, Sam Twiston-Davies is booked to ride and that has to be a positive given his 26% win-rate for this yard with hurdlers.

3.05pm Kempton - First Confession - 10/11 (various)

First Confession goes up in trip this time following a decent outing on seasonal debut.

He bumped into two smart performers on his hurdling bow, beaten 14L into third behind Potters Charm and Minella Sixo. He did manage to notch up two wins over the smaller obstacles, though.

Notably, both of those successes came at Ascot (right handed track) and both came over the same trip (2M 3F).

In the most recent of those wins, he beat Crest Of Fortune with plenty in hand, wiith just over 4L seperating them at the line. The aforementioned went on to finish a very credible third in the Mersey Novices Hurdle at the Grand National meeting – so clearly First Confession beat a very decent horse there.

He's a point-to-pointer, having won his sole Irish point run, so switching to fences was always going to see him in a better light. Sure enough, he ran a great race on chase debut last time out.

Despite making far too many errors, he stuck to his guns well to run on for third place behind The Jukebox Kid. He was beaten 10 lengths but gave 7lbs to a useful winner there – so no shame in that.

Now he goes up in trip, with that previous run under his belt. Sticking to a right handed track (form figures 113 going this way around), it looks a prime chance to break his chasing duck against this field. This is also the yard's sole runner at this meeting today.
