Butty's Bets - horse racing tips for Thursday November 27th 2025

1.40pm Taunton - Bertie Wooster - 11/2 (Bet365)

Bertie Wooster comes into this with a bit to prove, having gone 0-7 over fences to date.

Barring a few placed efforts, there's not been lots to get excited about over the larger obstacles. He was even a bit below par during a previous course and distance run here last December – though that was a tougher race, where he gave his chance away with some early jumping errors.

Taunton has been a happy hunting ground previously though, as the scene of his sole career success in April 2024. He carried 12st that day off a mark of 109, making most of the running and staying on powerfully to beat Swift Hawk by just under one length.

On these terms and back at a track he clearly enjoys, I'd expect him to be getting much closer today. A first-time tongue tie could bring about some improvement and the Joe Tizzard yard continue to be in flying form early in this campaign.

2.05pm Uttoxeter - Good Work - 9/1 (Bet365)

This looks quite a competitive race for the grade, with four of the eight-runner field having won last time out.

Good Work has shown a particular liking for Uttoxeter, with career form figures of 24214 at the course. Techincally, he is 3lbs below his last winning mark – though that equates to more like 2lbs higher when you factor in the lack of a 5lb claimer here.

Still, there's plenty to like. His course and distance success came in a similar race to this one, where he found plenty for pressure to fend off Gold Emery by just under two lengths. His jumping wasn't the best that day but he still had enough class to see it out.

A pipe opener at Bangor last month saw him finish a fair third behind Betterforeveryone, who was 14 lengths clear that day. However, there's a 5lb weight swing between the pair today.

With a run under the belt and a return to his favourite track, as well as a step up in trip that should bring positive rewards, I can see Good Work running a much better race here.

2.25pm Lingfield - Noble Park - 5/4 (various)

Despite being up 6lbs for his debut chase success last time out, Noble Park may be good enough to go in again here.

His first four runs for the Nicky Henderson yard brought little to shout about, failing to make an impact in a bumper on debut and then underwhelming in three hurdle runs. It was at Sandown in February where he first offered something to work with, finishing a clear second behind Diamonds For Luck – beaten three lengths there.

That appeared to be a case of bumping into one and the same happened next time out at Warwick, when a clear second again to Almuhit, going down five lengths having given up 7lbs to the winner. Almuhit went on to finish a close second in an ultra-competitive handicap next time out.

In that Warwick race, the selection had Highlands Legacy (third), Kap Quest (fifth) and Bowenspark (sixth) in behind him, with that trio all proving to be good horses in their own right.

So, it wasn't all that surprising to see Noble Park go in on chase debut, beating experienced campaigner Mahler Moon by two lengths.

Dropping in trip today, James Bowen takes over the steering with stable jocky Nico De Boinville enlisted by JP McManus to ride Khrisma at Uttoxeter. Bowen is not a bad super sub and I expect him to go very close here.
