As mentioned above. He ran a cracker lto. His best effort to date over hurdles. He finished a clear 2nd behind easy winner Minstrel Knight. Beaten. 5L by the winner.
That last run was a step up on anything he'd shown over hurdles in his 3 runs prior to the last run. The steps up in trip are well worth exploring. His Dam placed in the Caeserwitch over slightly shorter than this. Which bodes well for this lad's chances of staying a trip this far.
The trainer has sent out an eye-catching 9 winners and 16 places from just 41 non-handicap hurdle runners at this course, over the past 5 seasons. This is the yard's sole runner of the day.

He ran like he was in need of the run/chase experience lto. Made nice headway to press the leader towards the business end of proceedings. Lack of run told in the end. He was beaten 10L by the winner, Florita, back in 3rd place. That form doesn't look too bad now with the winner going up 9lbs for that win and winning by 6L again nto.
If anything, that last run proves he bumped into a handicap blot on chase debut. His best run over hurdles came at Doncaster. He finished 14L behind the winner, Jax Junior, back in 4th place. The aforementioned won a competitive class 2 handicap chase off a mark of 139 lto.
The hood is discarded this time. A mark of 98 looks workable. I can see him going even closer this time.
