Lee Butterworth (@ButtysBets on X) is back to offer his daily betting selections from the National Hunt sphere right here on OddsNow.com.
Lee flags up anything that takes his eye each weekday morning, with all stakes tracked for P/L purposes.
Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled on Odds Now for SD's Lunchtime Tip, too – it lands exclusively on site between 12.30pm and 1pm every weekday.
Esperti now sits 12lbs above his last winning mark but is still 9lbs below what he carried on his chase debut just over a year ago.
He opened his account over fences at this course and distance on his penultimate run when beating Dream Of Diamonds by just over 1L. That win was particularly impressive given how early he took up the running.
A blunder at the last did nearly cost him the race, but you can forgive a bit of fatigue after what was a gruelling spin.
The selection then ran with credit again last time out off a 2lbs lower mark than today. He finished a decent second behind Of Corse I Can, beaten just over 1L by the winner. I think the extra distance just did for him there, pure and simple.
Now he drops back in trip, with the in-form Sean Bowen booked to ride. Given how highly rated he was in Ireland as a hurdler, I'd expect there's still a bit more in the tank and he wouldn't need to find much to be competitive in this race.
Murphys Milan steps up in trip considerably here after a fair effort on seasonal reappearence last month.
He's still very lightly raced and unexposed, with just five career runs to date. His bumper outing saw him finish a decent third behind Kingston Pride, who won easily on chase debut last time out, recording an RPR 135.
He was then pitched into a strong-looking maiden on hurdling debut. He certainly didn't disgrace himself, beaten 12L back in fourth place with the likes of Quebecois, Juventus De Brion and Hot Goddess in front of him.
Since sent handicapping, he's finished seventh on both occasions – though he was only beaten 7L and 5L respectively in those two outings.
Now going over further with the first time hood enlisted, I think today could bring about a significant step forward. His dam was a winner over 3M, so he's bred for this type of trip and any softness in the ground would be a plus.
