In a new addition to Odds Now's horse racing content, Lee Butterworth (@ButtysBets on X) will be popping in each weekday to offer his daily betting selections from the National Hunt sphere.
Lee will be offering up anything that takes his eye at around 9AM each morning, with all stakes tracked for P/L purposes.
Six-year-old Highland Legacy makes his seasonal reappearance here, sent straight over the larger obstacles for the first time.
On the balance of his overall form. A mark of 115 doesn't look too harsh for this lad. He's bred to make a chaser. I'd expect him to improve over fences and this race doesn't look an insurmountable task.
He managed to get his head in front once over hurdles, winning his maiden in a hack canter over this trip. The form of that win wasn't anything special but he did have a useful mare called Musique De Fee beaten off 34L back in fourh place.
He ran well in his sole visit to this track, finishing a decent second behind Shengai Enki. Only beaten 4L by the winner and 9L clear of third place.
The lack of recent run looks to be no bother given his good record when fresh (form figures 222 off the back of 58+ day breaks). He's certainly bred for this discipline given how highly his Dam rated over fences herself and the market seems to be bullish on his prospects.
Ghasham has proved expensive to follow since his breakthrough win for his former stable. He does, however, take a huge drop in weight class for today's assignment, having run a sound enough race in a Class 2 affair last time out.
He's now down to a mark of 101, with today's jockey taking off a further 7lbs via his claim.
The horse ran a cracker over course and distance on his penultimate run off a 2lb lower mark than this (essentially 5lbs higher mark if you include the jockeys 7lbs claim). finishing a very close up second behind Orange Diamond.
He was beaten just a length there, running on strongly but narrowly unable to get to grips with the winner – who was, in fairness, completing a hat-trick.
He was pitched into a Class 2 last time out and certainly didn't disgrace himself, finishing sixth behind Saligo Bay, beaten just 8L by the winner.
He drops all the way back to Class 5 today with a useful 7lbs claimer enlisted. If he repeats tha course and distance run, he's got fair claims in this weak-looking affair.
I'm also interested by the cheekpieces going on alongside the tongue tie this time, given his sole career win he was sporting cheekpieces.

1pt win - 4.30 Worcester - Ghasham - 5/1 (various)
