In a new addition to Odds Now's horse racing content, Lee Butterworth (@ButtysBets on X) will be popping in each weekday to offer his daily betting selections from the National Hunt sphere.
Lee will be offering up anything that takes his eye each weekday morning, with all stakes tracked for P/L purposes.
Don't forget to keep your eyes peels on Odds Now for SD's Lunchtime Tip, too – it lands exclusively on site between 12.30pm and 1pm every weekday.
This mare makes her chase debut here, with the handicapper kindly dropping her 4lbs for her last outing in October.
She's running off a mark of just 91 here, stepping up in trip with a first-time tongue tie going on alongside the hood she usually wears.
Her best run in four attempts over hurdles came at Haydock, where she finished third behind Soleil d'Arizona. That was far from a disgrace, beaten just 7L by a progressive horse.
But the switch to the larger obstacles ought to bring out some improvement in her. She had two point-to-point runs, winning one of them and finishing second in the other behind Air Of Entitlement, who went on to win the Mares Novices Hurdle race at the Cheltenham Festival last term.
This race is super weak, the mark is very lenient and I suspect Forcetoreckonwith will leave her mark well behind at some point – hopefully today.
This is a trappy little affair, admittedly. You couldn't comfortably rule out any of the six runners.
You could also say this is a bit of a leap – backing a horse in Inedit Star who is 0-7 over fences, where every other runner in this lineup has won at least twice already. Fair enough! But I think the selection's mark is very fair. In-form 5lb claimer Tom Broughton is booked to ride too, which should make things much easier for him.
Inedit Star has had one previous run at this venue, over the minimum trip. He bumped into one that day, just failing to give 21lbs in weight to Findthetime. He did pull 15L clear of Nells Son, however. The latter is a 140+ rated chaser who won off a mark of 144 only last season.
His final two efforts of last season were solid. He finished a 6L third behind Sans Bruit in the Red Rum. He then finished off his season at Sandown, earning a very close third in an ultra competitive handicap chase – beaten just 2L by the winner.
He was closing all the way to the line there and If he repeats that form here, he's got strong claims in this wide open race.
